Oxfam Trailwalker - Whakatane 2016
Receiving a warm welcome at the pōwhiri from Ngāti Awa in Mataatua Wharenui, the spectacular meeting house. Ngāti Awa, mana whenua and iwi in Whakatāne are working closely with Oxfam for Oxfam Trailwalker through Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa. The Oxfam Trailwalker course crosses large sections of Ngāti Awa Heritage Estate land and access has been generously granted for Oxfam Trailwalker. #otwnz
Final prep! Whakatāne Mayor Tony Bonne with Boney and Zeb from Oxfam’s events team, take a final look over the Oxfam Trailwalker course. Not only will this be the first Oxfam Trailwalker for Whakatāne, it is the first time the event has featured a 50km option. Looking forward to seeing you all there this evening! #otwnz
Not long to go now! Three more sleeps until the first Oxfam Trailwalker begins in beautiful Whakatāne. Hope the training is going well! #otwnz
