A thing I wished I'd written before Once killed my muse

Miss Congeniality a la Once.

Emma Swan is an FBI Agent who is sent undercover at the Miss United States pageant. Cora Mills, who runs the pageant, insists there's nothing to worry about, and is convinced her daughter is destined to win.

All the same, Emma is ordered to stay, backed by her stylist, Gold, and her partner, Graham. As much as she hates all the dressing up and girlie behaviour, she quickly becomes friends with some of the girls. But the plot is still afoot, and when the FBI are pulled out. Emma refuses to leave, because she knows there's something wrong.

When Mary Margaret Blanchard wins, with Regina Mills in second place, Cora Mills is determined to make her daughter Miss United States, at any cost.

(And as an aside, Mulan is Karen, the proud lesbian whose girlfriend Aurora is in the audience)

No matter how ick I feel "French Kiss" always makes me feel a little better. I'm not a big fan of Meg Ryan, but I love that film. Mostly because Kevin Kline is awesome, and their pre-romance bromance is adorable.

I also can't help thinking it would make an interesting Rumbelle fic. Either with Rumpel (as Kate) the homebody going after Milah (as Charlie), who has run off with Killian (as Juliette), and Belle (as Luc) helping him to be brave and strong.

Or with Belle (as Kate) going after Gaston (as Charlie), wherein she runs into Rumpel (as showman criminal Luc), who agrees to help her win her boyfriend back, only it doesn't go to plan.

So, as plot bunnies go, this one is fairly evil: what if - during The Doctor - Daniel did come back, full and intact and him just as he had been? What if he immediately snuggled up with Regina, because she was smiling and happy and seemingly hadn't changed at all from the girl he knew? And what if, little by little, he started to find out who she really was and what she'd done after his death? How far could he be pushed before he backed away from her in absolute terror? After all, she collected hearts, and that was how he died. She became the echo of the person who murdered him.

I have a Belle plot bunny if anyone wants it, because goodness knows I don't have the time or energy to do anything with it at the moment:

After Belle settles into the library, she tries to reconnect with old friends. She finds Leroy easily enough, but Mulan and Philip are nowhere to be found. But after Snow returns, she's informed of what's been going on for them.

Not much of a bunny, I know, but Belle does seem the type who would go looking for her friends.

The Scarlet Heart

Sir Percy, a foppish baronet of the Northern Kingdoms, distracted the world with his masquerade. He rescued people from the attentions of the woman known as the Evil Queen, but he could not go unnoticed forever. His beloved Marguerite was snared by the Queen, and she tore out Marguerite's heart out, steering her to the eager attentions of one of Regina's own lackeys. Despite the danger he was placed in, Percy donned a new disguise and went to take back what was taken from his beloved.

The trouble with walking lots is that it fans the flames under the casket of plot bunnium. That baby doesn't need much heat to explode, and now, I'm poking an idea wherein Neal never left Emma. If she was going to have to deal with all that crap, he was not going to let magic take another person he loved away from him, even if it meant meeting his father again.
