Gigantic thanks - this one was especially special!
Le Weekend played the most recent "Local Band Local Beer" installment, set up by WKNC and Younger Brother Productions at Tir na nOg last Thursday 12/21, alongside the fine gents of Raleigh-Asheville-Boone-everywhere's Oulipo. We're grateful for every show we get to play, but this one just has to get special mention. There was quite a turnout and the audience was fantastic: attentive, supportive, with a healthy peppering of raucous characters (who, luckily for us, were apparently pretty into the band on what was almost certainly their first exposure) to push the energy level up even more. It was exactly who you want to play for when you're in a band that loves playing music and is incredibly safe from the dangers of "blowing up." We received many compliments from strangers and got drawn into more than one thought provoking conversation about writing and performing music throughout the evening. This is definitely not the default Le Weekend show experience. It's especially amazing that WKNC and Tir na nOg partner to make a show like this FREE every week.
And of course the true measure of success: when the sound guy who had to put up with your band throws it a "Like" on Facebook!
