It actually depends on the gender of this chinnie. if it is male that’s a generally safe weight, low on the scale, but completely safe. If it is a female, I would suggest trying to have her gain a little weight, but only by 100-250-ish grams. Males should be about 400-550 grams, females should be about 500-600 grams.

Hi, I always wanted to ask this, i have an almost 4 year old chinchilla, since she was like 6 months, she stopped pooping outside her cage, even if she's out playing for hours, once she's back into her cage, then she starts to do it. Is this normal? i thought chinchillas were like rabbits in that sense, you know, doing her things everywhere they go and that they couldn't control it.
You’re right that they can’t physically control it, but sometimes a chinchilla’s body will stop pooping simply because they aren’t in a place they’re used to being. There’s no real reason, and it’s not a bad thing, it’s just a thing that happens to some chinchillas. As long as you see she starts again once she's back in the cage, you're good. No need to worry, it’s quite normal and insignificant. I’d call it lucky.
