“Time rewards no one for standing still. The world spins and we are hurled forward. It is our deeds and actions which leave a mark”
The Last Brave Explorer
According to your deeds.
Among Christians you always get those who love God more, and others less. Some spend an hour every day in prayer and reading the Bible, some spend more, and others less. Some live out their calling in the Lord wholeheartedly, others half-heartedly. The Holy Spirit will enable and guide us in this.
Remember that God will give to each Christian according to his deeds.
Matt 16:27 [WEB] For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.
Rom 2:5-9 [WEB] But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath, revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God; who “will pay back to everyone according to their works:” to those who by perseverance in well-doing seek for glory, honor, and incorruptibility, eternal life; but to those who are self-seeking, and don’t obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, will be wrath, indignation, oppression, and anguish on every soul of man who does evil…
Rom 14:12 [WEB] So then each one of us will give account of himself to God.
2Cor 5:10 [WEB] For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive the things in the body according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Rev 2:23 [WEB] …and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.
According to our deeds.
It is very important to read the following verses. They are not preached about much in these days, but can make a big difference in your life - even your eternal destiny.
Matt 6:14, 15 [World English Bible] For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matt 6:33 [WEB] But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matt 12:35-37 [WEB] The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings out evil things. I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.
Matt 13:12 [WEB] For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have abundance, but whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he has.
Matt 16:24-27 [WEB] Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
Matt 24:44-46 [WEB] Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come. “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.
Matt 25:29, 30 [WEB] For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away. Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mark 4:22-25 [WEB] For there is nothing hidden, except that it should be made known; neither was anything made secret, but that it should come to light. If any man has ears to hear, let him hear. He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you, and more will be given to you who hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.”
Mark 8:34-38 [WEB] He called the multitude to himself with his disciples, and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it. For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? For what will a man give in exchange for his life? For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in his Father’s glory, with the holy angels.”
Luke 8:17, 18 [WEB] For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.
Luke 12:47, 48 [WEB] That servant, who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare, nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes, but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.
Luke 17:3, 4 [WEB] Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.
Luke 19:26 [WEB] For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.
John 3:19-21 [WEB] This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.
John 17:14 [WEB] I have given them your word. The world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Acts 4:12 [WEB] There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Rom 2:5-10 [WEB] But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath, revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God; who “will pay back to everyone according to their works:” to those who by perseverance in well-doing seek for glory, honor, and incorruptibility, eternal life; but to those who are self-seeking, and don’t obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, will be wrath, indignation, oppression, and anguish on every soul of man who does evil… But glory, honor, and peace go to every man who does good…
Rom 8:13, 14 [WEB] For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.
Rom 14:11, 12 [WEB] For it is written, “ ‘As I live,’ says the Lord, ‘to me every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess to God.’ ” So then each one of us will give account of himself to God.
