Hey guys, Miles here… sooo obviously it’s been forever since we’ve actually posted anything here at all resembling a real blog entry, so what better time than now to make up for lost time!?

So I guess the best place to start would be the beginning. I think since the last time anything of actual substance was posted here and wasn’t just a reblog, we were either on the coat tails of the debut EP or during the process of shooting one of the music videos we’ve put out supporting that EP. Since then, we have gone through a number of events that have changed the band, our approach to our music as well as our line-up. The most obvious of the changes you all probably know of already; our original drummer, Paul Cesario, chose to part ways with the group in order to focus on his school work towards a master’s degree. We give 100% of our support and wish him the best of luck with all future endeavors. Additionally, we were approached by a local record label about signing with them and we turned down the contract. The main reason being that things just weren’t in the order they needed to be for us to feel comfortable signing. Not to say there were problems on the part of the label, right now we aren’t even a full band and in situations like these it’s best to go with your gut feeling. I personally would rather go into something prepared rather than waste anyone’s time so ours and the labels paths may cross again in the future but for now we’re flying, but still a bird with a wounded wing.

Since Paul’s absence, we have been on the search for another drummer to fill the position. We have received several audition videos from potential drummers, but so far nothing has worked out to be a good fit. In the meantime, our good buddy, Anthony DeCarlo, has been filling in on gigs and pre-production.

Speaking of pre-production, yes! We are currently in the process of writing/demoing out new material for the new record, tentatively titled “Stop Reality”! The phrase literally being sparked from seeing a road sign one day while heading to work that said “Stop Realty”, referring to housing through realtors. In this case, Stop Reality comes from having gone through 2 really difficult years back to back and while things have changed in some cases for the better, there’s still a lot of things I find myself hung up on. My depression has been the main contender I’ve been battling, but other stuff in my personal life along with it. But after a while, one goes through a real dark, negative point in their lives and they just want the world around them to stop. They want their mind to stop. They want their reality to stop. This record is going to be different from"Flawed" in a number of ways. One being that it’s going to be heavier. I’ve been inclined to incorporate more screaming vocals into my melodic lines and musically, there’s going to be more breakdowns and the vibe overall is just much darker. I think also with this record I am less concerned about writing supposed “singles”. I’m more interested in conveying the emotions within each song. Obviously we’ll keep you posted on our progress as we proceed to give you what you need, so keep checking us out on here/Instagram/Twitter/Facebook.

Another change that has taken place that I don’t believe we have written about is that “Flawed” since its release has been approved for streaming and hosting its own channel on Pandora! For us as a band, this is a great achievement and for me as a songwriter, this means so much because it opens the gates for more people to be exposed to your work and it allows the opportunity to expand the band’s audience. This is a personal achievement for me because with the music I write it’s always been a struggle finding somewhere to fit in specifically. It’s always been a case of “Too heavy for the rock bands and not heavy enough for the metal bands” when it came to booking shows and even having music hosted on radio/tv shows. With this happening though, it’s offered me a little bit more faith that someone out there gets what I’m trying to do. You’re always told as an artist when you’re doing something similar to someone else but it’s hard to get support when you actually do something different. For now, we have the support we’ve been looking for for a while now.
