If your favorite host club character is Hikaru, what are your feelings on Kaoru?

Are you asking me to simply tell everyone how I rank Kaoru? Or are you allowing me to RANT about Kaoru? Cause I’ll do both actually

Kaoru is such a complex character, much more so than Hikaru, so he is definitely a close second favorite host for me, (Third favorite being Kyoya). Kaoru absorbed more trauma as a child than his brother did. While Hikaru is hotheaded and described as the more angry and tempered one, he has less of an identity crisis than Kaoru does and I guess that’s what makes Kaoru special to me. He’s the one more intoned with his emotions but he’s more afraid of being left alone. And he’s afraid of things changing. Hikaru is actually way more “fine” being away from Kaoru than vise-verse, and I definitely think Kaoru holds him back (especially as they get older).

Any time Hikaru needs to get to Kaoru (for an example: when he’s caught in a net with Haruhi on Halloween) he’s more afraid of Kaoru being alone without him, than the other way around. Kaoru is honestly fine by himself, but Hikaru is worried about him being alone, most likely from his own thoughts. Hikaru knows Kaoru is afraid of change, and growth and being left behind. I honestly think Hikaru is afraid of him feeling that way and wants to protect him from himself as best/long as possible.

Hikaru is dense though, so he doesn’t know he is unintentionally hurting Kaoru by feeding into their antics for so long.

HOWEVER, Kaoru knows Hikaru is holding himself back for him, that’s obvious. That’s why he is always pushing him to do things and separate from him, and that’s SO SAD.

They were both no doubt hurt by their childhood and it affected them differently. That’s why they’re so awesome. And I always find it hard to pick which one is my favorite character.

But yes, I definitely love Kaoru. I just want to date Hikaru so I guess that’s why he’s my favorite I dunno

I see so much Ouran on my dash, and I like it and post it.. But the anger and betrayal I feel towards that series is still so clear in my mind I cannot say I like the series no matter what happens.

And all of it comes from the huge fight the twins had only to trick Haruhi into letting them creep into her home.

If I had been Haruhi, I would have walked out of that friendship so fast.

It was the CREEPIEST THING ON THIS PLANET.

You trick a friend into such despair over your fighting, that she says she'll do ANYTHING to have you stop fighting.. and what you choose is "LET US COME TO YOUR HOUSE HARHARHAR?" and when she says yes, you admit "HAHA BUSTED. YOU DONE GOOFED"

I would kill a bitch for that.

I would strangle you on the SPOT for making me worry over you like that.

And this is why I'm angry at Ouran High School Host Club. And why I stopped watching Soul Eater and many other series.

Betrayal like that is not ok.

Making other people worry over you and then playing it as if nothing happened is not okay.

If you make a friend worry for nothing, to a point they're desperate enough to do anything (or DIE).. is not okay.

I will forever remember that and I will be angry. I still am.

Yes. Ouran was a good series when compared to many others.. But I'm angry at it and I refuse to like it.

It would not have made for good shoujo romance but I wish Haruhi's feelings for Tamaki were either not there or not made into a big deal. Maybe she thinks, "Hmm, I like that idiot. Whatever" and doesn't change into a fluttery, blushing mess. i also wish Tamaki didn't get an upgrade (becoming more serious) because he became the shoujo stereotype he was parodying. The Ouran manga (and live action) became the genre is was supposed to be parodying, and that's a shame. I loved Haruhi- who didn't care about gender- and Tamaki- who was a ridiculous man-child out of touch with reality.

its pretty obvious these two belong together even though some people are STILL trying to say Hikaru belongs with Haruhi.  No. He belongs with his twin. KAORU!!  

Say it with me: Hikaru + Haruhi = nothing

Hikaru + Kaoru = something
