If he was entirely honest he couldn’t really say why the sudden feeling to kiss Haruhi had taken over, but he was finding it harder and harder to resist. It was a quiet night, despite the fact that a host club event had just come to an end. He had come over to offer her a ride home, but there was something about the way the moonlight hit her that.. had his heart pounding in his chest. It didn’t make sense really, why would he want to kiss Haruhi? That definitely wasn’t a normal thing that friends did. Right? 

And yet despite all of these thoughts, without even realizing it he found himself closing the space between them. Ever so carefully he reached up his hands to cup her cheeks, his thumb carefully stroking the soft skin. “Haruhi… I…” He couldn’t quite get the words out, not entirely sure what he even wanted to say to begin with. Instead he leaned down, and without much else of a word gently pressed his lips to hers in a warm kiss. 

The kiss only lasted a few moments at most, and it wasn’t long before he was pulling away, staring into her eyes his own began to go wide as his cheeks turned a bright shade of red as what he had done began to sink in. “I-I… I’m sorry! I don’t know what came over me! I just.. I saw you here.. and you looked so beautiful! and I just.. I don’t know what came over me!” he blurted out, clearly embarrassed over his lack of control, and the fact that he had just given away his first kiss without even realizing it. 

“P-please don’t be mad at me!” he begged, his hands raised in the air as if ready to defend himself from whatever assault was sure to come his way for having been so rude and kissing his friend without asking permission.

The obvious for this one I feel is pretty obvious but his fear of light. Even though he can now interact with Kirimi without having to go into light, he’d really like to get over his phobia towards light. He knows he can’t go out into sunlight without a lot of protection but if he could get over his fear of bright lights, he’d feel really proud of himself. Even though he’s learned to deal with his fear mostly he feels it holds him back a lot and that he can’t live a form of life that would be helpful to himself or his loved ones if he keeps running from bright places. It also has less to do with “over coming” his physical ailments towards light and more to deal with silencing the constant thoughts that light will hurt him and he’s nothing when he’s in the light. This is why in the older verse I think it’s really important that he gets contacts that help with light sensitivity because it helps deal with his fear. He still has a long way to go but it’s a work in progress.
