      "So, this is the Gate you taught me about?" Athaela asked, swallowing her nerves. No matter how hard she tried, she could not hide them. But she did not want to appear weak in front of Katrina so she was determined to push them aside. Of course she would be nervous though considering she was travelling to a world she knew nothing of. There was also the fact that she would no longer be with her family. 

     But she trusted Katrina, that was why she allowed herself to go through with this trip. That and she always loved an adventure- especially when it involved the unknown. So she took a deep breath, her nerves finally fading away. And the princess had no plans to allow them to return. Although she did find herself fidgeting, but that wasn't from nerves. That was from the uncomfortable clothing Katrina had given her to wear. Trousers the colour blue made of a material called denim that hugged tightly to her legs, and plain white shirt, along with a red... red.... what was the name again? Athaela frowned at the thought. biting her lip. Sweater! That was it. A red sweater. Then there were boots her brother would describe as being 'as black as the night sky', but she always thought that was an idiotic saying because she didn't believe that the sky was ever black. So she would describe them as simply black. But they were odd boots as they had a heel attached to them that made her appear taller than she was. 

     Her eyes, turning back to the lake before them, glittered with curiosity. "This is a portal? I hadn't idea that this lake possessed the powers of teleportation...."

They had decided to go out for coffee at the new place near the park. They had been spending so much time at home watching movies, that going out seemed like a good plan.

ψ for a brother headcanon ⌆ a nervous tic or habit they do [for Sam]

ψ Brother Headcanon

Samuel is really close to his brother, of course. Everyone who knows them knows that. Simeon is easily caught ill, so whenever he has the slightest sign of a cold, Sam puts him to bed rest. If Simeon gets worse, Sam will slip into the covers to cuddle with him and they’ll sleep like this until he gets better. You’ll never get him to admit it though.

⌆ Nervous Tic

When Sam gets nervous, he likes to laugh. Whether its a barely-there chuckle or full on hysterics, he will try to laugh his way out of any awkward situation.

"Nah, it's fine. Look, you got nothing to explain to me. Keeping your secrets is more important to you. That's fine. That's cool. I get that." But she knew better than to believe him; the boy was lying to himself. He ended it there and kept his eyes on his work.
