Our Love Story (Day 3) : A day or 2 before our first date we met for dinner at a pub, just to catch up because we hadn’t seen each other in a while. Afterwards we walked on the sidewalks of Providence and this Christmas card blew into our feet. I bent down and picked it up , giggled and handed it to Paul. He chuckled and said “maybe someone is trying to tell us something”. We laughed, but both of us knew we were head over heels in love at this point. We had known each other for about 5 months and had developed a strong friendship. After, Paul walked me to my car and we hugged for about 2 hours because we didn’t want to say goodbye. We never kissed (except on stage), never held hands, and never said out loud how we were truly feeling. But that hug spoke enough for both of us! Our first date was near the end of January and a blizzard happened in the afternoon. We thought we may have to cancel but the snow let up about an hour before Paul picked me up. He showed up at my door with a dozens roses, dressed dapper in a pin striped-suit ...and wearing a phantom of the opera mask 😂! Which in the average relationship would be odd...but when I opened the door he started singing “Music of the Night” and I just swooned over his voice (which he knew I would)! Have you ever gone on a first date with someone you know you are already in love with, and you know they are just in love with you? It’s a game changer! Our date was pretty magical. Most of the city was a ghost town due to the blizzard and we had dinner at a quiet romantic restaurant, seated by the windows, watching the snow lightly fall. Afterwards we went to see a touring production of a musical. The entire evening was perfect! And we finally said “I love you”. Finally, yet it was the very beginning of our relationship! Sadly we don’t have any pictures of our first date.
