hi, i just saw your posts (i guess they're a bit old now but) about the buggy RL special edition furbs, and i just got a christmas one so i thought i'd chime in too. he doesn't have that bug thankfully, but he is REALLY sleepy. aside from when i first got him working, i've only gotten him to wake up and not go straight back to sleep 20 times in a row once. i doubt that's an error though he might just be a sleeby boy.

Thanks, it’s always good to have more info about the bug! It sounds like he probably has “Me Sleep Again” (or “MSA”), a known Thing that some furbs do (though I am hesitant to call it a bug)– you should be able to reliably wake him up by pressing his tongue and flipping him upside-down, then releasing his tongue and flipping him right-side-up.

I like both sides of their relationship. I like the side of them both being evil and manipulative together, but I also like them genuinely loving each other and being all gross and lovey-dovey If it were to become canon though, holy shit. I’d feel like I’ve ascended to heaven.

Also, a lot of the art I post for it, Mic is kind of out of character because I’m a self-projecting motherfucker.

do you think it would be safe for someone with... extremely minimal technological experience to open up a furby farther than just removing the outer shell (and how do you do that?) i just got a 98 baby, and every time i move it i can hear something b ouncing around inside, but don't see anything. it was shipped here and recieved a bit of damage on the way (wasnt mute according to the seller, but is now) so i want to make sure nothing important broke off, but don't wanna wind up doing more damage

It would be totally fine! The key things to be aware of are 1) try to avoid touching the circuit boards with your bare hands as much as possible (skin oils and electronics don’t get along very well), and 2) anything you take apart, make sure you put it back together exactly the way it was. You probably won’t have to do much disassembly to find obvious broken pieces, though!

To get the shell off, you’ll have to take out 6 screws: Two on each side, one on the top of the head between the ears, and one on the bottom of the back below the pet button. You should be able to gently wiggle the shell loose after that!
