Monthly Meetup 14th of Juli 2018
Amsterdam Pride will soon be upon us, at the end of Juli and begin of August and Rotterdam Pride in late September. OUT&ABROAD will be attending both, and we want to prepare! That is why we will be organizing a workshop where you can make your own amazing signs to carry around during pride! (or just hang in your bedroom)
Pride is not just a party! It’s a celebration of the rights we have now, which our community didn’t have in the past! It’s a fight, for the rights and protections that our community still does not has. We show we are here! We march with pride, for ourselves and those who cannot march with us!
Aside from rainbow flags, face paint and amazing people such as yourselves - no pride walk is complete without signs and banners! That’s why we will organize a sign-making workshop this monthly meetup! We provide material, brushes and paint! You’re also free to bring your own! During the workshop you’ll learn some of the basics about acrylic paints as well. So it will be slightly educational as well ;)
We will brainstorm ideas together before getting to work and we will make sure all the materials are there(if you want anything in particular, please ask ahead of time). Drinks and snacks will be available at the workshop! Besides the workshop, there is the possibility to sit around and chill with some music or play board games. Meet new people and perhaps a joint dinner later that day.
The meet up shall be held at The Hang-out 010 in Rotterdam, doors will be open at 14:00 and we will open til about around 18:00. The workshop will be open to LGBTQIA+, but you can invite a friend if you like, but please let us know so we know how many people are coming. The workshop will be free. Want to join?
