red dead verse for sham?
ITS IN THE WORKS
" it isn't too strong this time i promise. at least i hope it isn't. " a rather belated warning. but not so much to be considered an after thought. the spoon in her hand cradled a condensed milky liquid. still warm. ( from lisa c:
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑 & 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐄𝐓. moonlight decants in silver blades through the windows of the room, trapped in them motes of dust which sifted & spun, grains of sediment glittering in a spangled nimbus. the sky outside is sprent with stars, the only black trickling in tiny rivulets, 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐞𝐝, rejoined, falling in cold arcs so that on the dais of the earth the castle looked among them & not under. 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚛𝚘𝚘𝚖 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚎'𝚜 𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚔𝚎𝚍, the flames saw with a preternatural breeze, warm reflections cast on the floor stretching like hands to the foot of the boy's bed. he had tugged the blankets up to his face, over his nose, so only his eyes — bright with suspicion & incandesced with the bloodbeat of the hearth — are visible above the quilt. weary & heavy - lidded, his skin ragged warm with fever.
❛ 𝚗𝚘. ❜ the word is said with finality. adrian shakes his head & absconds beneath the covers, pulling them over his hair & turning his back to his mother, a small bundle in his sea of blankets. he sniffles from a runny nose, throat akin to sandpaper as he coughs. ❛ you said that last time, & the time before that time, too. ❜
[ brow ] ( from abigail perchance )
eliza is seated on a grassy hill, legs folded in a criss-crossed position as the sun dips in and out of oncoming storm clouds - you can smell the seasons changing in the wind. the humidity in the air waxes and wanes with each breath she takes; it'll rain soon. still, it feels safe here - as if another month could pass before someone inevitably forces their hand to flee and move to another wide, open space to call home. it's an endless cycle that eliza doesn't mind, so long as they all stay together - working together, living together, persevering to hold one another up when the other needs it. here eliza sits, holding little jack, cradled in her arms.
she can hear the tender bending of grass beneath footfalls as someone familiar approaches - eliza turns warm and relaxes as the familiar greeting of a kiss above her brow embraces the soothing nature surrounding them.
"he's a little angel - when he's asleep, at least." that much is spoken with a quiet lilt and affectionate smile at the woman who stands over her. "go on an' get some rest, abigail," eliza coos, "you deserve a minute of peace."
* MEME, still accepting / @outl1ve 🤍
@outl1ve asked: 17 and 20 for valeria / prompt.
17. what part of their past are they most ashamed of?
valeria's misplaced trust in the government and law enforcement that they would resolve the issues she grew up surrounded by. for believing that she could somehow prevent corruption, and that by joining the military, she could create some sort of change. valeria never again intends to make the mistake of trusting anyone but herself. regardless of what it takes, she knows if you want something doing you have to do it yourself.
20. how do they view death?
she values life, but believes that, in order for life to be worth something, you have to be worth something. she has grown desensitised to death, but continues to value the deaths of those important to her as well as her own life - with a strong connection to santa muerte, as shown via her tattoos. valeria has been shown to be capable of mourning, and isn't above appreciating those loyal to her. she is shown to have the capacity to kill strangers, further suggesting she believes divine intervention will fatefully protect one from death due to their importance or value. to survive means you must be valuable.
