Welcome to the Outlander 31 Day Challenge!
Today is Day 18: Favorite Roger scene
I actually screamed when I saw this scene, because it wasn't in the books!
(from 04x04 "Common Ground")
Besides the shock factor - I love this because it's the moment where everything changes for Roger. We see him realize this, in real time. It's the moment he starts leaving 20th century Roger behind, and when we see just how much he will do for the woman he loves.
Two changes to the script that made this scene even better:
1. The filmed version has Jamie say that their bed will face east, so that they can see every sunrise. I quite like that image much more than the sunset. Because Jamie and Claire have embarked on a new dawn in their relationship - they have thousands of tomorrows, thousands of sunrises to share. Defining their marriage in terms of new things to come, rather than things that have passed.
2. This unscripted kiss:
