NAH BUT. shockingly i have muse for ichigo in this the year 2018 and also!!! i finally got my laptop in to be fixed!! i’ll have it back by thursday! 

i highly doubt any of my files that i lost will be salvaged but being on more efficient computer means i can begin rebuilding some of what i lost (and also already having some help on ichigos icons thanks to cas) so i might be around here more!! 

generally though icons arent so important to me anymore. ive gotten comfortable just focusing on my writing by itself and ive grown fond of not using them. for the most part a lot of my stuff is dead here though so ill probably just gradually ease back on here through meta and memes and some old threads i still have with certain people

                azakana come in many different forms, with many different individual names, though they all embody and feed off of one specific emotion to their ‘kind,’ so to speak. originally, when coming into being, azakana are shapeless; clean slates with no definition, but over time and with exposure to mortal emotions, inevitably they begin to latch onto a certain “flavor” of despair to feed from, and develop into their respective kind. to put this into scientific terms ( though these terms do not really apply; it is stated to aid in understanding the concept ), there are different species of azakana, each of which represented by a mask worn around yone’s waist once they are sealed. however, it should be known that the face of an azakana will not exactly resemble the mask that represents their kind / what emotion they manifest from. they may look similar, but azakana are as individual as mortals themselves.

                currently, the above are the different kinds of azakana that yone has encountered and sealed thus far. each feeds off the emotion that is listed under them, however, being that azakana are the lowest and most basic form of a demon, those that are still developing, it should also be noted that azakana can and will feed on other emotions from their host / victim. an example of this is the azakana that had been feeding off of yasuo; once sealed, the demon had turned into the mask that represented ‘petty jealousy,’ though it was most likely also feeding off of yasuo’s feelings of guilt and regret for killing his brother and the bloody path that followed him. 

                once the azakana that had been haunting yasuo was sealed with yone’s blade, his blade dissolved into shimmering fragments in the air. from those spiritual fragments, a mask is shaped and then affixed to yone’s belt. this sequence of events will happen every time yone seals an azakana, and will also happen in a similar way when yone draws near to one during his hunt. when yone is near an azakana, one of the masks around his hips will siphon itself into his same crimson blade, forming it anew. this partially informs yone of the source of what grief or despair the particular azakana has formed from while his spirit realm influenced sight allows him to see where or from who the demon feeds from.

                relating to the nature of azakana and how they form, yasuo and yone were both preyed upon by type’s of azakana that are discussed in the aforementioned post. in the cinematic, kin of the stained blade, the azakana that had been haunting yasuo and was sealed by yone in the end became the mask for an azakana of petty jealousy.  

                knowing this, it is reasonable to infer that the azakana who hunted yone in life was an azakana of obsession turned to malice. this can be assumed because the brothers are used to represent the legend of the two brothers who were split by the same forces in the path. it should be noted that spirit blossom yasuo and spirit blossom yone are not really yasuo and yone; they are more like actors dressed up as other people, those being the two brothers from the legend.

                to summarize the legend: 

the collector had grown jealous of how many spirits the gatekeeper had lead to the afterlife, so he took two of his loudest bells, and melted them down and hammered them into blades over twelve nights. into one blade, the collector poured some of his jealousy, and into the other, he poured some of his obsession. in spring, he let the spirits of the swords bloom into the physical realm, and they grew from the ground like saplings. 

                the path shows the older brother fighting a demon of obsession, and because yasuo and yone’s actual stories / lore are meant to be similar to the legend, it is reasonable to infer yone’s azakana was an azakana of obsession turned to malice. however, things do become slightly fuzzy towards the end of the path’s cinematic considering we saw the elder brother defeat the azakana, and then the setting suddenly shifts into present day, were we get a glimpse of the real yone. it is possible that other swordsmen had defeated their azakana as well, or perhaps the elder brother’s azakana took him with him / possessed his body. it is unclear and the answer remains unknown as at present time, yone is the only swordsmen to have fought his azakana, defeated it, and then returned to the physical realm. he does not know how or why, and ultimately still does not know the name of the azakana who has hunted him in life.
