Hello gentledarlings, it’s now officially December and wanted to announce an idea for a Bloodborne RPC wide “event” I’ve had for months: a winter solstice masquerade ball.

There won’t be any murder mystery sort of subplots going on, as cool as that would have been. But, it requires a lot more time and organization than I’ll be able to have. Also, I wanted something way more relaxed and informal!

The aristocrat NPC host named Anton (just for reference) is unaffiliated with the Healing Church, nor linked to Cainhurst castle, just to allow for ease of setting up posts. Either your muse received an invite, or if you really wish, your muse can sneak in some other way (such as sneaking through a window, or just straight up stealing someone else’s invitation/posing as someone else).

Rules:

The starting date for this even is December 18th and will formally conclude on December 24th.  However, this does not mean that ongoing threads have to be wrapped up in that time! The week is just so as many people as possible can try to participate.

Please use a tag I’m developing for it #bbwintermaskball2k17 so everyone can find each other easily. You can either use this for open starters or reblogging ask memes so people can find you.

Follow any and all rules of your roleplaying partner.

Officially back from my hiatus for now as long as my mental health allows. We’ll see. I try to take it one foot in front of the other foot.

However, I will say that I don’t have as much time any more so I definitely won’t be running several multipara threads at once. I think I can take only a few more plotted threads (no new multipara, sorry; these days I don’t have as much energy to sustain it) and reasonably manage all the ones I have right now.

Additionally I just want to say... just because I don’t talk to you, doesn’t mean I don’t like you or that I think you’re annoying or something. On the contrary, if I follow you, it means I think you’re a cool person. I just have horribly debilitating social anxiety that often keeps me from reaching out because I’m really bad at the first several conversations with people until I get comfortable with them. I fear sounding stupid and awkward (and often I feel like I am) so sometimes I just go quiet. My mind goes blank, not because I truly have nothing to say but because I fear saying the wrong thing. It’s absolutely nothing personal.

talents & / or powers: medicine (he’s a doctor/surgeon), health regeneration (Vileblood), beast transformation

why someone might love them: Adrian has a wry, sarcastic sense of humor that shows up when he’s comfortable with someone. Of course, his quick wit also demonstrates that he is quite intelligent, unsurprising for a doctor. Beneath all those layers of cold iron and steel, he is a caring, warm people who enjoys expressing his feelings through gifts. 

why someone might hate them: Upfront, the tall Vileblood doctor is often quite aggressive and acerbic. Even when he doesn’t mean to, he can be backhanded and condescending. He is also incredibly arrogant and stubborn. You could say that he’s a bit.... pigheaded. Also, there’s the whole “kills hunters for the Queen” bit.

how they change: Over time, Adrian’s murderous impulses have simmered down; he isn’t outright stalking and murdering hunters just so he can feed. 

why you love him: Honestly, I won’t lie, I love him precisely because he’s a bastard coated bastard with bastard filling. Everything about him is unapologetic. That being said, he’s not stupid evil, and he does have a reason why he is the way he is. BUT, those are explanations and not justifications. Also, the fact that despite all his attempts of being Not Human due to not wanting to be traumatized over and over again have just made him... more human (not in the species sense).

I’m not sure if I’ve ever posted this, but Vileblood Adrian being three generations removed from Cainhurst is playing on the idea that the Good Hunter in Bloodborne apparently has Cainhurst ancestry to necessitate getting a summons, and they seem pretty far removed from it (they’re an outsider to both Yharnam and Cainhurst).
