I have been thinking the past few days, I’ve always had a genuine intent to finishing revamping Satoshi’s blog and rp him again. I keep getting other things that made me push it aisde, but I did have the intent. I think you can sense the “until now” coming, and you’re mostly right.
I’ve grown to want to focus more on story writings, be able to work on my original content more. Fic writing and rps are both fun time for me, and a sense of training myself as it means cultivating my creative mind. However, I’ve come to realize some fics/rps are good to be me, because they will create energy in me, and some are fun but ultimately, they make me use up energy to keep up.
I’ve already put most my focus in fics on DGM (and recently, also working on a MDZS fic). Other fics of mine are still open to being updated, to various degree of possibility (my pokemon one is actually one that I can see myself updating still, if very slowly).
RP wise, I’ve also put most of my energy to my main rp blog, my Allen Walker; and recently my secondary muse, a Wei Wuxian with dgm elements mixed in. My first rp blog, Aryn, is still open&active, but her threads are few (and we’re all slowish rpers), still she isn’t a muse I can lose nor one that drains me, so she stays.
I’ve also made a multimuse months ago, as I did want to have a place where I can poke other muses I’ve had, as some like to come and go; and I still want to be able to write them and have them around, but keeping individual blogs was too hard.
Satoshi is sadly a muse that shifts from want to write again one day to still want him around but can’t see myself pick as an active muse.
This does mean this blog is going to close; and Satoshi will be added to my multimuse (I’ll probably at least add him to the canon character list sometimes today or soon). I will honestly stay I don’t expect myself to write him anytime soon, most of my multi muses aren’t feeling inspired currently, but at the very least he will be there if I do write him again.
Thank you for those that sticked around and maybe some of you aren’t surprised, but I was the first to hope I was actually to pick him up again. But I’ve come to a point I know I won’t, or not actively at least, or not much; and so it felt right to make a post.

I think I’ll have to change the theme, I liked it enough when I found it, but seeing it again, between the tags not being seen properly and a sense of “too small font”, I feel I need something else.
Theory: Is Satoshi really 10? Has years really passed in Pokeani?
Most of us will agree will all know Satoshi is said to be 10 because the main appeal is supposed to be for children this age. But as I had a realization for the first question, I started thinking about time and the possibility that there is a reply that isn’t forever ten or mistake in calling him 10.
The short of it would be that the only time in the anime that Satoshi has been said to be 10 is the very first episode, while any other time (which if you look at it, is only twice, both in articles about upcoming seasons, specifically BW and Sun&Moon). While this can lead us to wonder about only us viewers “knowing” Satoshi is supposed to be ten (different perception stuff on time), I also started to wonder about how much time has passed in the anime.
And then I thought “what if all the adventures we’ve seen Satoshi have fit in a single year?” and soon realized it is a possibility. I think some theories are similar, but humor me with my take.
So if we really look at it, Satoshi’s age is said only once in the anime, at the very beggining, which is the only time we all agree he is ten. But what about time passing? All we have is a vague mention that some time had passed when Satosh&co are back into Tokiwa/Viridian City; and seeing Satoshi travel around.
Of course, we see a few times when they sleep, or sometimes it is said a few days had passed. But if you look at it, barely anyone gets drastic changes that hints of growing up, and the few that does (Shigeru for example) is not too drastic and could be put on sudden growth spurt. Which, you know, happens for teenagers. Meanwhile, Satoshi himself has barely no changes, though I have argued before that the designs from the season make him look a bit older. Or at least, more mature. I mean, put Satoshi from the very first episode ever beside XYZ Satoshi, and you will know from sight that XYZ one is more mature.
While Alola design seems to make him look less mature than his XYZ design, there’s still this sense of maturity in Satoshi that isn’t in the oldest design. So why would he still be 10? But wait, don’t we call someone 10 until their 11 birthday pass, rarely specifying months? So it is possible Satoshi has yet to reach 11?
The only time we have anything to base ourself on is a special where they end up partying for the anniversary of their meeting. Though anniversary can be month anniversary (appreciating a full month of something), and I’m not sure if it’s only the dub version that says it has been a full year since Satoshi and Pikachu met. For the rest of this theory, I’m taking that either the sub doesn’t specify (and so we can wonder if it’s a one month anniversary), or that it isn’t part of the main anime story (making those special a world of their own, possibly where Satoshi took longer to make his travels).
My wonder by then is weither or not we should consider Satoshi&co take a long time to travel. I’m not saying it only take hours, but what if there wasn’t as much distance as we believe? What if they can make a full region travel (from first arrival to the League) in two or three months? If we take into consideration the main points in their travel are cities with Gym, it means they only follow 7 main travel line, plus going back wherevere the League is. If, let’s say, it takes one week for each, it would mean a total travel time of 56 days, aka 8 weeks.
2 months for a region? Saotshi has been to 7 regions (I’m counting the Orange Archipelago, though I wonder if it took less time), which would mean that up until now, 14 months have passed. More or less, as some Gym have been closer to each other. But yeah, this would mean Satoshi is a bit above 11 as XYZ ends.
Now we don’t know yet the full reason of Satoshi being in Alola, and getting into school. But what if this is simply something to do once children have reached 11, and Satoshi had to wait to come back from Kalos? Why in Alola? Maybe he wasn’t forced to be a Kanto school, and if it’s as we expect, maybe because Satoshi is curious about the lack of a League. Or maybe, as this thoery suggests, Satoshi is moving to Alola. Maybe we can even wonder if the school has seen Satoshi’s feats in Kalos and wanted him in their school, because of how he unlocked powers from Gekkouga (and let’s not forget Alola is where Z moves are and this kind of powers seems to be studied).
But in the end, Satoshi goes to school because he now has the age required for it. Maybe trainers are supposed to explore for one year then come back to a teen oriented school.
Now why is Satoshi still said to be 10? Either the journey took even less time than I suggsted and his 11th birthday will come during Alola’s adventures, or it is a small quirk where children are still call 10 until they graduate this teen oriented school, because everyone knows they are at best just turned 11. Maybe Satoshi is one exception because most children are supposed to go to school a bit before their 11th birthday, but Satoshi got so caught up in Kalos he reached his birthday. Which is not fully impossible, since he didn’t plan that whole Flare Gang shit.
Of course, this is a theory, but it is so damn fun to write something that could fit in Pokeani lore~
I’ve been catching up with episodes I missed, and I just finished watching the Master Class; and in the end do you know what really stood out to me?
Musashi.
I think part of why I have decided to make her work through performances (contests, etc) in my stories where she ended up leaving Team Rocket with Kojiro and Nyarth is because the anime has shown us she’s actually good at it.
Back when it was contest, we can say she wasn’t so good, a big part because she was ruthless toward her partners, and really looked down on other contestants. But as the anime progressed and we arrived in Kalos, you can see that while she still thinks she deserves the title, she knows she needs to work hard. They don’t show much her training, but I don’t get the feeling she was as ruthless as before.
One of the biggest thing is that she has stopped trying to cheat (which happened a while back actually). She genuinely tries to win by herself. She can rage, but she knows she only has to blame herself (admitedly, she might blame the whole team, and also people for not voting for her).
And this episode gave the last (positive) blow because she grows to accept how far she has come. She worked hard and arrived to the semi finals with honesty, and when she lost, through the anger she accepts how far she has come. And more than anything, she is grateful to her team (I include Kojiro and Nyarth of course). She knows they helped her, and I would venture to say she is aware lots of her development as a performer, of her strength, came from the support of her team.
So yeah: the anime might have put lots of focus on Serena (like it did Haruka and Hikari), but what I truly appreciate is Musashi’s development as a performer through the different seasons.
So I can’t draw all that much yet, and so to express what I wanted I went to my second (or still first currently?) method: visuals.
Can’t always find exactly what I want, but oh boy did I make those as close as possible! I’m just glad they did have some of the situations I had in mind~
