I landed hard on my butt doing pivots (forwards to backwards and backwards to forwards) during ice skating orz. I've been doing pretty well, but fully committing to the pivot is still getting me sometimes. I feel proud of what I've accomplished in 13 one hour group lessons, though! Next term I'll be moving on to the next class, to the elementary one yay! (Although we've already started a lot of the elementary stuff since we passed the little beginner test early on.) Which means not having to wear a helmet any more, which imperialarchon is ecstatic about :P
In the last lesson we did a bit of skating with hockey sticks, and holy crap going around in a circle keeping the stick on the circle is surprisingly hard; shows how much trouble I still have positioning my upper body upright and inwards like you're supposed to. Crossovers, fine; crossovers with the stick on the circle, really really hard.
