So. I found this pin on Pinterest that had all these tropes on it for Bakudeku(MHA) and I was reading through them when I realized that Metonic kinda has all of these going on, too. Like, I only had to edit a few of the ones included and I was good to go. Most their moments are in IDW… which isn’t too surprising since Metal Sonic rarely shows up in the game stories. but yeah Metonic is loaded lol

I’m bored. random blogging about metonic in that new racing game

They uploaded an episode of CrossTalk where Sonic and Tails go over the robots in the new game. It’s so stupid but I got ridiculously excited when Sonic started talking about Metal Sonic. it sooo stupid like I got so happy!!! I don’t care!!! I love that Sonic talked about Metal Sonic!!!

I’m so normal about them lol

but yeah

I liked that Sonic said he’ll have to pay attention with Metal Sonic around. That robot always gives him hell and he knows it 😏

I also liked Sonic saying that Metal was 1,000 times less cool when Tails started talking about how Metal can match his speed 🤭

And when he said “I can be imitated but never duplicated!” so iconic and true

ALSO LOOOOOOOOVED that Sonic says upgrading is a Metal Sonic’s thing like it’s so cute how he knows Metal Sonic. Taking notice of how Metal Sonic’s always upgrading is just so cute to me! I like to think he appreciates how Metal’s always improving. 😌

The gameplay clips they used were fun, too. Metal Sonic is so aggressive. I’m not getting this game but I hope they make his CPU target Sonic in solo play mode. Like Metal Sonic just targets Sonic’s car if you play against him on track as Sonic. That would be funny.

Outside of that video… I noticed they released some merch for the game. AND!!!

They made a print for Sonic vs Metal Sonic. Like, I shit you not THIS IS REAL!

I was not expects anything from them at all. Metal Sonic was barely in the ads so it is just crazy to me that he got prints. AND WITH SONIC TOOOOOOOO!?

The ads have been all about Sonic and Shadow. like Jet has made his return to the series but I haven’t seen shit about him and Sonic having their rivalry. Just Sonic and Shadow.

So getting this is so huge to me. Like wow. They look so cute together, too!!! 🥹💞

There’s some more stuff here with Metal Sonic. There’s also a Sonknuxetal print! very cool~ Plus there was cute Amy merch with her racer decal!

Though, I wonder if this is going to be a trend as we get closer to 2027

Sonic and Metal Sonic are totally going to fight in that movie so maybe they want to subtly put them next to each other more often as we get closer to Sonic Movie 4 debut?

I hope so! I love seeing them together and it really feels like their dynamic is slept on. I hope that movie inspires more stuff between them that’s as cool as their Sonic Channel Cover Story. I love that fic so much. I read it again so often.😌💞

Back to the game. I’m really hoping for a cool rival interaction between these two.

I’m pretty sure this is for Jet vs Sonic since I stole this screenshot from a reddit post made back when CrossWorlds was revealed at Summer Game Fest. Metal Sonic wasn’t playable in that demo much like how he isn’t playable in the current GamesCon demo, so it doesn’t make sense for it to be a leak for him vs Sonic.

butt… I really wish it was for them. I mean if I was trying to think up a Sonic rival known for getting second place and always trying… It’d be Metal Sonic. That’s kinda his thing. 🫤

Still, I’m not too pressed at the idea of this being for Sonic vs Jet. It’d be a waste to use this line on Metal Sonic anyways. I wanna see a come back for a line like this that isn’t just… glaring. or beeps? Will Metal beep in this game? IDK point is that all Metal Sonic interactions are gonna be kinda awkward. I’m imaging them being more like comments the characters make toward Metal Sonic rather banter that expects a reply. otherwise it’ll feel disappointing and super lame to see Metal Sonic get roasted and not be able to bite back. 😔

Though. I’m still excited to see reactions to Metal Sonic. Especially from Amy!!!!!!

I wonder what she’ll say. Hopefully something that’ll fuel my Metsonamy pipedreams

Honestly idk what’s up with her in this game though. Her dialogue is kinda wack. But like I feel like most of the problems are from her voice direction. Her line delivery is SO BAD. like SOOOO BAD.

A good piece of dialogue can be effortlessly destroyed by bad voice acting and Amy Rose in this game is proof of that!

Her rival interaction with Sonic was so cute tho. It’s not all bad.

I just hope Sonic and Amy say something shippy with Metal Sonic. Like please don’t just be mean because he’s evil robot Sonic!!! that’s boring… fingers crossed for cool interactions between them 🤞

I love my OT3 but it genuinely sucks to collect stuff for them because I have to buy 3times as much stuff. 🫠

Fortunately for me, I’m not actually huge on collecting merch. I only added these fews things in the past year-ish and I’m pretty happy with what I got so far.

I’m like SOOOO HAPPY that I got those FiGPiNs though. I’ve known about them for a while and basically figured that I’d never own the Metal Sonic one since it was like super rare to get from the blind box thing. And I just wasn't here to see those released in the first place.

off topic/ on topic but I kinda hate gacha/blind boxes. I get why people enjoy it since it’s really fun and you could get lucky by winning an ultra rare collectible for super cheap and it’s all hype when you win. But the whole thing/idea is super lame. It’s just gambling and I don’t like it.😒

anyways I found someone selling a whole set that included Metal Sonic in it and just instantly bought it. I had no business doing that either but IDC!!!! That was the only Metal Sonic I had seen on Ebay ever AND it included Sonic and Amy pins in the listing too????

technically I own Shadow, Tails, Knuckles, and Dr. Eggman pins, too... Same with those Racing CrossWorlds acrylic charms since no one sold them separately….

It’s neat having these extra pins but idk what to do with them. I only care about Metsonamy and want to collect stuff for them😌💙🩵🩷

Though I say that, I’m not gonna get all their Funko Pops. I don’t really like Funkos and ONLY got this one because it was sparkly and had an ad for Amy and Metal on the back. Though, technically I do own the Metal Sonic one since I needed it for drawing ref... I like the way his body looks 😅 anyways I love that the #923 Funko Sonic release is Super Sonic. 9/23 aka September 23rd AKA Sonic CD RELEASE DATE!!!!! I don’t really want to get my hopes up because there’s always a chance that Metal Sonic will just be a big bad protagonist without too much depth or too deep of a relationship with either Sonic or Amy.

But like just the thought that I could get Sonamy vs Metal Sonic in this upcoming film is SO COOL TO MEEEEE.

If the movies make a dynamic for them that’s really good it might be echoed in the game series, too.

I sound kinda crazy saying that but the team has already been dropping these small details that kinda links these three together. It’s mostly the fortune cards and their fated encounter on Little Planet and how maybe Amy’s understanding of her fate is a bit flawed…

That last one is from the Fast Friends Forever website that is super dead now...good riddance. I'm not a fan of framing Amy as being over Sonic. whether it's on purpose or accidental. It's so weird. 😒 anyways. I only added it to show that including Metal Sonic in her fated encounter has been something that's been going on for a while now.
