✕ - What would set you entirely off roleplaying with someone?
When people can not use normal words and every word is like a dictionary just throw up a reply. It annoys me so much because it seriously sounds so unnatural and like people are trying to be one of the cool kids. ALTHOUGH I will say that I can see a difference with people who just write that way to be cool and the people who do it naturally and i do not have a problem with which it’s just thier natrual wrting style
♪ - How do you decide on your muse’s dialogue?
……holy shit this might be long. since i think the dialogue is the most important part i spend the most time on it. So i usually go like this (I guess. I’ve rped lily for a while so i don’t think about this as hard anymore)
what ponit it is in lily’s life bc that is so imporant and if I do two rps one set two years before the other, Lily mind set and relationship with people might be different
what relationship my character has with yours? are they strangers, best friends, lovers
how comfortable is lily with them
remembering that she won’t use difficult speech in her everyday speech. Because even if she might have read them and use them when writing assignments. bc she grew up in the working class neighborhood and if you stared talking all fancy to people who mostly don’t use these words you would get teased.
Also that she is British and don’t use american words like cookie and sidewalk
she also grew up in the 70’s (which slag i can not use because to me it feels really unnatural ) and don’t use slags we do today and she has no idea what the internet is.
tbh there is probably so much more and i have such a fucking long thing i go though when i think about the dialogue if i had to write it down. bc when i actually do it i write the first thing that comes to mind and go through it thinking about everything in it she would never say and the things she would feel it would be necessary to say
