On account to demand from @grace-to-ace, y'all are getting more vamp Bee!!!
I have been thinking of the most common powers and weaknesses vampires have (usually) in fiction. Yknow, the usual, weakness to silver, garlic, sunlight, not being able to pass running water by ones self, walking on walls etc. But anyway. One weakness in particular, that I believe is mentioned in Brahm Stoker's "Dracula", is that a vampire, despite all their strength and immortality and abilities, cannot lift up roses.(Correct me if I am wrong) And that piqued my interest, as you may have guessed.
Think about it!!! Vampires already are seen as inherently romantic beings due to the way they feed, the whole rose tinted view of the Victorian era, Stephanie Meyer being a pain in the ass of any vampyr nerd, especially in pop culture. AND MOST OF THOSE ROMANTICIZED VERSIONS OF VAMPIRES DON'T EVEN ADD THE THING WITH THE ROSES!!! But anyway, let's not get off track. As we were saying, this piqued my interest and got me thinking (they lying to you, they haven't had a thought a day in their life). What if we add this to the vampbee lore? And can we add this to the vampbee lore? If so, how? How will that affect his relationships with people (why yes this is my excuse to talk about ships, shut up)
Okayyyy...So first, let's say we added it. Now on the how. Cause we can say that normal, human roses work, but that just wouldn't be making sense (you are talking as if vampire robots make sense). If it could happen with normal, earthen roses, that would mean that Bee would have been turned by a human vampire, which doesn't make sense since the vampire would have absolutely NO gain from biting a giant alien robot since human vampires, as we all know, don't feed on innermost energon. Replacing the innermost energon in a bot with vampire blood would just kill them I believe. So👏I think it is safe to assume he was turned by a Cybetronian version of a vampire, or something close to the human definition of one at least (and no, sparkeaters don't count, I explained this on a previous post). By extension, wouldn't it be logical to assume that that weakness would work only with the Cybetronian equivalent of a rose?
Anyway, now onto relationships! You might think that I will go into ships head first, but nope! You've been tricked!
I imagine his relationship with the team here can be described with the following lyrics of a song I don't remember the name of:
"I'd be the voice that urged Orpheus when her body was found" When Bee was first turned, I imagine they would wish to find a way to cure him. And wouldn't anyone? You see one of the most important people in your life suffer. Wouldn't you want to help?Sure, life will continue, but vampyrism isn't something that just goes away with little impact.
"I'd be the choiceless hope in grief that drove him underground" Pretty much the same as the previous one, but with a bit more blind optimism.
"I'd be the dreadful need in the devotee that made him turn around"Sometimes the suspected solution brings about more problems. Sometimes trying to help causes more harm than good. In the way that desperation may have created a solution that doesn't help. (Also, I am very aware that the story of Orpheus and Euridice doesn't go like that and that the song doesn't mean that, but shhhhhh)
"And I'd be the immediate forgiveness in Euridice" Just Bee's possible stance in this whole debacle.
"Imagine being loved by me" the vampirism and what it means. It's in equal parts violence and love. Adoration and the macabre, both on the inflicted individual and everyone around them. All of those things can be seen in the abilities vampirism gives too, as seen with the rose thing and numerous other examples.
Now👏 Onto the stuff y'all have been waiting for. S H I P S
Also before we begin, how do we feel if we change the name of the au from "vampbee" and "vampire Bee" to "vulture Bee"? For anyone that doesn't know, vulture bees are a species of bee that produces the nectar not out of pollen, but out of meat. Pretty cool stuff.
Now, I won't talk about Steelbee or Hoofbee here, due to the fact I've made separate posts for the "vulture Bee" au for both of those ships. I would like to talk about ships I haven't mentioned in this au. Yes, I still love those pairings. So👏 Welcome to the stage:
Saberbee: look at them. No seriously, LOOK!!! The homoerotic tension between them would multiply, both due to Bee's transformation and the abilities he gained from it and Saberhorn's enjoyment of a good opponent. Plus, I know what a gay who was very unhealthily obsessed with vampires as a youngin looks like, I can sniff it from a mile away. AND THAT HOE IS SABERHORN. You can't convince me otherwise!! Also,on a more serious note, I think that Saberhorn's probable enthusiasm and curiousness with Bee's vampirism would do Bee some good. Like yes, this is a terrible situation, but how can that person I love not only not see me as a monster, but be enamored and curious about it. Fusaeayeursyrssayrruxuffxgkf
Fixbee: A new ship here on the blog, thank you @grace-to-ace! I think that due to the sudden vampirism that not one member of the team are equipped to handle, for a long period of time Bee would spend a great majority with Fixit (at least at the start), since he is the closest thing they have to a doctor. I think they would bond over a lot of stuff, mainly being created to harm (Fixit having the coding of a brutal prison warden somewhere in his helm and Bee being both a veteran and a recently turned vampire). Plus, like Saberhorn, I believe Fixit would be very interested in the way vampirism works. Man, I just want them to be able to share domestic bliss together, like..Dude!They would be some of the healthiest choices for partners for eachother!!! Plus, plus I saw an animation somewhere with a little robotic dude, from a fandom whose name I don't know, with the character singing a part from "Space Age Bachelor Man", from Ride the Cyclone and I think that Fixit would appreciate this song (DISCLAIMER: Here we don't support the ableism of a lot of famous people and parts from Ride the Cyclone)
Fracturebee (can you tell he is uncreative with ship names):Freaks (both affectionate and derogatory). Both are basically two single fathers. Also, fulfilling both traditions of shipping Bee with Decepticons and shipping Bee with a bounty hunter (see:Drift). I know they would have the best gossip, I just know it in my heart of hearts. Is this not enough info? Yes, but I will most likely write more when I learn more.
Overbee (what did you expect): Listen, before you say that it shouldn't be here due to the rule above about Steelbee and Hoofbee, I would like to remind the audience that I am one of the few people who talks about them now and then. We here created the tag! So, let me make an exception here. Anyway. Oohhhhhhhh, the angst that could be created here. It would be insane. Like, imagine if IMMEDIATELY after Bee gets bitten and turned, Overload finds him. He originally should have taken him to the Decepticon base, to use as ransom, or for Steeljaw to try and recruit him for the third time this week or something, but that just wasn't that appealing! It would not only look sketchy as hell, but also it would not match his role in this story! Listen, he is all for complex characters, but that just wouldn't make sense (dude, you LITERALLY are one of the antagonists). All that thought process goes out the window though, when Bee -who had passed out due to blood loss during the vampire turning process- arose. But it wasn't the Lieutenant Overload had clashed with in the past. No, that one was in the past, as he looked at the strangely familiar mech, a hunger in his optics. The creature's reactions were so different than what Overload has seen of Lieutenant Bumblebee. The usual hurt and anger and betrayal has melted and in their place was raw, ravenous desire.
A.k.a Overload ends up as a living blood (?) bag for Bee, until feelings get caught and their situation becomes even messier✨🕷️✨
