It seemed as if the rain was starting to let up. The royal quarter, for all its glistening and brilliance and prude nobles strutting in a synchronized line, really looked a mess right now. At the very least, the hood Niren had pulled over his silver head served as some protection from the poor weather, as he quietly made his way through the streets. At every passing it seemed as if a glance of disgust was thrown back at him, forcing the man to realize that he indeed hadn't been able to keep a decent hygiene for some time.
Only having returned to the capital to speak with a contact, however, swift, adamant steps carried the ex Captain further down, towards the gates. His steps caused several droplets to escape in pairs, leaving his boots and part of his trousers drenched.
Niren's main reason for urgency was the fact that his arm was acting up, his furrowed eyebrows indicating the pain he was going through as he walked. The support prosthetic had helped considerably, making him able to keep his arm in the first place, but perhaps it was the rain making it grouchy, as he'd done his best to keep it in good shape.
Ah, there was the gate, thankfully. Getting out of sight was a must for his predicament, as showing off he was part metal would attract quite the unwanted attention. It was however very sigh-inducing, as Niren was too much of a people person to sneak around and hide wherever he went.
At times though, it could get very excruciating. This was one such time.
He barely had a chance to register the slithering aching until he found himself on his knee in a puddle, grabbing at the arm refusing to cooperate as he bit down hard.

It had been a conscious choice.
It was, in fact, nothing he found he'd need any time to mull over, as whether or not the note he had been presented with had been a command he was expected to obey, it had served as a reminder amongst other things. Yuri wasn't one to stick to an order because it was an order. He wouldn't trust a bidding in itself, and at times not even the reasoning behind it. Because why should he? What reason did he receive from a command, to simply lay himself down and plant his self-respect into it?
No, this... this was only truth. Something Yuri admitted he might have neglected through the bliss of the realization that he found something beautiful. The world was, for once, beautiful. It always had been, but it might have been his actions allowing him to see it. His actions that demanded he follow through with this reminder.
As the hardened vigilante and traveler made his way through the citizen's quarter and down the stairs towards the decided-upon meeting place, he anticipated the reaction from his friend wouldn't be that of relief or joy. To Flynn, Yuri was likely a criminal - but there had been understanding due to the outcome. Which was no excuse. This was why it had been done. Who else would have taken it upon themselves? Who else would have handled it with a breezy smile on their lips?
But Yuri knew the commandant could make it harder. He didn't truly want to seek the man out, but he knew of none other he'd rather approach regarding this at the same time. Surely Flynn wouldn't have a clue this was what his friend had called him out for.
Surely no one could have expected it but the one knowing it from the very beginning.
