If you ever plan on being an Overnight Stocker @ Walmart...
Don't do it. Ever. Even if you're in high school or going to college, it's not worth it. There are better options. I just quit on my third day, 3 hours into my shift.
Now, maybe because it's not a job I necessarily needed--but more of one to assist me in buying a new 65 inch Panasonic plasma right before the PS4 launch (lul)--but even if this was something I absolutely needed, I wouldn't do it. I totally get how Otto felt in 'Repo Man' now.
Not only is the job incredibly boring and simple, but it's so fucking repetitive, not to mention downright uneventful. It's safe. It's the worst kind of routine a person could have; especially since I'm the type that thrives of spontaneity and creativity. My mind just moves too fast for me to be content in working at such a cruise controlled pace.
Hopefully I will find a better alternative once school comes around... 'cause that shit sucked.
Also, fuck the Waltons and everything that they stand for. I don't even know why I took the job in the first place. Probably because it offered 40 hours a week right off the bat. Still, does that make up for the shitty hourly rate? Lel, no.
And I hope this doesn't sound offensive nor demeaning... but I feel so bad for the people that have to do that job for a living. I couldn't imagine that being the career path leading me all the way to retirement. I sincerely hope that doesn't come off as dickish, but that also played a role in me quitting. It was like walking into a factory of sadness every damn night. Everyone was pretty much older than me, and they all seemed so damn miserable.
This just serves as another reminder for why I need to continue to chase down my real dream. I never want to 'settle' for anything less.
Oh, and 3rd shift sucks. Hands down the worst shift a person could work.
