So I had my second class on Linear B yesterday, and as one of the examples the instructor used a word that’s transliterated as /ksenwiya/, which is probably related to xenos/xenia which means “guest” in Ancient Greek but in Linear B also seems to be referring to some type of textile “for guests,” and they don’t really know if that’s a good or bad thing but my main takeaway is that they had guest towels in the Mycenaean period.
