most peoples mm! aus have their characters sitting with a joker-esque smile on their faces, finding some kind of ecstasy in their despair, but i think masterminds have sooo much more potential than just that one trope. like for example, i could never really imagine evelyn being that sort of mastermind because it would bend her entire character into something much different. i think she would be 'sane' of course not really 'sane' so to speak but more?? rational.
despair for her would be a deep unhappiness an un-satisfaction she wants every single part of her despair to be perfectly aligned or none at all. but she would be so conflicted with it that it would break her completely, a sort of two-sides scenario -- similar to monobears appearance. this probably doesnt make sense to anyone but me bUT
not that theres anything WRONG with that sort of stereotype, if it fits your character then sure! but i think theres a lot of twists people could take and i really want to see some creative cool turns on the mastermind au!
