in my mind, they broke up when blackwatch's activities were revealed. their breakup was big and messy and they were both upset by it, but angela was, and is still fuming over moira's decisions. nowadays, they are the couple that make everyone in the room so uncomfortable from the bad vibes sparking between them

moira feels little responsibility because she feels her ideas are right, to advance science. angela also feels little responsibility because she feels her ideas are right, to protect humanity. moira wishes that angela was a bit more open minded to see her side, and even to join her. but angela is just so bitter and cant stand the idea of her. angela's sadness is overpowered by anger, whereas moira is just sad (she keeps a picture of angela in her wallet)
