What if Logan’s attempt to shun his humanity changes Thomas perception of him, and he does actually become robot as his animal trait
But!
He needs fuel. He needs to charge. He needs maintenance to not rust and exercise to retain elasticity in whatever springs and sprockets replace his muscles. He needs to shut down regularly because his wiring can overheat or his processes can become more and more inefficient if he runs too long.
The major difference is, as a human, he could recover if he passed out or ached or got injured.
now he can’t do most of these things himself. If he runs out of battery he won’t wake up until someone charges him, or with fuel he’ll be paralyzed without aid because he can’t get up to fuel himself. If he rusts or breaks from being stationary too long he can’t move enough to clean it or replace his own parts. If he shuts off from overuse then it requires manual start up.
After too long a neglect of his human body, the consequences of his actions exponentially grow in his robot one. It’s only if our beloved tin man starts taking care of himself and letting himself be human in this inhuman form that he’ll be fine.
Annnd to include his boyfriends they get a free pass to scold him every time he deactivates or locks up due to lack of care.

Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes you GET IT!!! Him wanting to not be human in order to need less maintenance and then becoming nonhuman and needing MORE maintenance!!
I'm js gonna do smth short for this since it's already late but I want to show the others finding him:
"Wait wait- I think he's waking up" Virgil's voice gradually gets closer and clearer as Logan becomes more conscious. His head hurts and he feels heavy. There's a small chime as he opens his eyes and fully powers back on. He forgot to charge again... dammit. "Welcome back to the land of the living, dumbass"
"Can you stop dying?" Remus sounds annoyed but Logan catches the underlying concern in his voice. It must be pretty bad if even Remus is genuinely worried about him. "For like- one week? If I have to pick you up off the floor for the third day in a row I'm just gonna leave ya there."
Janus enters the room and kneels right in front of him. "Either you start taking care of yourself and listening to what I tell you to do, or we're going to leave you here until either Patton or Roman decide to check on you. You know damn well that'll take a hell of a lot longer than we take." It's true. The two weren't necessarily inattentive but they did have a habit of forgetting to do things even while they're in the process of doing them.
Logan is pretty sure they all knew this process would repeat soon enough. He's very slowly getting better. He remembered to stretch his joints and clean them. He didn't realise how much he took his mobility for granted when he still had flesh.
It felt like with every step forward he would take a step back. If he remembered to charge, he'd overwork and overheat. If he took breaks then his joints would get stiff. It was too much to keep up with while also getting his work done. He was already unsatisfied with what he was getting done now. He couldn't afford to do even less-
"-ello? Earth to Logan. You there dude?" Virgil was waving in front of his face.
Logan nods. "Yes. Yes- sorry. I was thinking. I'm alright..."
That's kind of the whole point of the robot thing though isn't it? To prove that something is wrong. To show that he needs to change.
