owen and adam headcanons

Two years late, and I am so sorry about that, especially for these two because I love them and you might've been as desperate for content for them as I was for a period of time. I still want content for them, I've just given up on it a little bit.

I actually had far less, but I decided to add a couple more and I got a little carried away.

Adam had a crush on Owen even back when he was making fun of his art. He only thought he was cute at first, but after hearing about how passionate Owen was about his art, he gained respect for the craft and for Owen

This also leads him to respect Owen and Bree’s relationship and doesn’t ever plan on pursuing him.

He gets special permission from Bree to ask him out, and he still waits a while after their breakup.

They’re both ace-spec. They don’t have sex until far into their relationship, and when they do it’s more about intimacy. 

Adam always tries to give as much to Owen’s art as he can, including many times being his canvas.

Owen likes borrowing specifically Adam’s hoodies, since his t-shirts are definitely way too oversized for him to wear regularly.

Adam gets all bashful when Owen wears his clothes. 

Owen first saw Adam during his and Bree’s “cheer bomb,” but he’d seen Bree before that. 

Adam preemptively breaks up with Owen after their bionic secret was revealed under the belief that Owen wouldn’t want to be with him anymore, but in reality he both didn’t care and it had become a source of inspiration for him.

He has an entire collection dedicated to the period of time after their breakup, which was a mix of stuff inspired by Adam’s abilities, and his mourning of their relationship. 

Owen later becomes a barista and they get back in touch while Adam is on the mainland. 

They keep in touch while Adam is teaching, but don’t get back together until well-after Adam returns to the mainland. 

Adam dated no one else in that time (not properly at least) while Owen dated a couple more people. Usually after they found out his ex was the Adam Davenport, they’d get all distant because they considered it competition. 

Owen only had one serious partner who didn’t pull away after learning that, but they were only together a couple of months. 

Adam loves gifting things to Owen, especially things that he thinks he can use for an art piece. 

Davenport helps Owen’s art take off in the proper art world and let’s Owen live his dream of being an artist for a living.

It wasn't like Owen intended for him and Adam to stay up until 3 in the morning, it's just that sometimes with art, you get caught up in the moment (and sometimes, you don't want that moment to end, even at the cost of your sleep schedule.)

Adam woke up first, acting like it was no big deal to stay up late and wake up on time, but if there was one thing Owen had learned about Adam, it's that he never stopped surprising him.

Owen woke up two hours later, blinking sleep from his eyes. They fell asleep on the couch, Adam's long legs stretched over one of the arms and Owen on the other side, tucking himself into the couch cushions. It was just them in Adam's large house, hence the invite. Leo and Chase were at some tech retreat that Chase found, Bree was out with friends, and Mr and Mrs. Davenport were at a two day conference. (Adam confessed to him, around 1 am last night, that he's not used to being by himself, he always had his siblings with him, so whenever they're out of town, he'll either be with them, or see if he can get people over. Owen just smiled at him, the lack of sleep starting to hit him.)

"You're up!" Adam is sitting on the couch, holding a Nintendo and smiling widely. "Do you want breakfast? According to Douglas, I'm one of the better cooks in the family, but the bar is low. I can make pancakes, if you want?"

Owen sits up fully, cracking his neck and nodding. "Pancakes sound great."

Adam drops the Nintendo on the couch and heads over to the kitchen, Owen standing up and following him, taking a seat on the one of the kitchen island chairs, resting his head in his hands as Adam moves around the kitchen, setting his phone on the counter and playing music as he does, humming softly and dancing as he mixes the ingredients together. Owen watches with a soft smile on his face, a blush dusting his cheeks.

Owen slips off the chair and grabs his sketchbook and a pencil and sits back down, flipping to a blank page and starting to sketch. He might not be able to live in this moment forever, but he can document it in his own way, not wanting to forget the warmth filling his body.

its a damn shame canon never gave owen a last name, bc in my mind, chase is the type to take his partner's last name, bree and skylar hyphenate, but then adam and owen combine theirs, but they combine into "daven[insert piece of owen's last name here]" because it's honestly the funniest possible way to do it. especially since donald names everything like that so adam just...keeps it going

someone gets a picture of bree and spiderman together (just standing next to each other) for some reason or another in NYC, and Tony holds an avengers press conference to clear up the rumors. it ends up only making things worse, though: first spiderman can't make it (chase told him not to come bc they would handle it without him), then bree lies she has a boyfriend, then pietro lies that he IS that boyfriend, resulting in a fake dating to real dating plot, and then someone criticizes the reporter for only asking bree about her dating life (it was natasha), so they ask adam, who explains his boyfriend (owen, but he doesn't tell them his identity) is a civilian and he'd like to keep him out of superhero business, so now the press is losing it over adam being gay, and pepper has her hands full trying to get the press and internet to calm tf down

Post series, adam comes home (from a mission) to his and owen's apartment, stumbling and slurring his words.

Owen: Have you been drinking?

Adam: Nope! That's all concussion, baby! *passes out*

bob is so fun to write. i'm writing the owam fic where owen visits the island (spin, leo and bree cause trouble that ends up giving adam less time with owen than he wanted, but they make it up to adam at the end) and bob isn't causing any trouble bc they told him "don't bother adam" so he latched onto chase instead and asked him a billion questions. chase has him sorting resistors, and when he's done with that, he'll move onto lightbulbs, probably.
