Vinnie liked to do things on a whim, and that's exactly what coming to New York had been, a whim. Sure, he'd wanted to get away from LA for a while and wanted a place to relax after doing so many different fashion shows and photoshoots, but for the most part he was just coming to see Blackout Songs and, in turn, to see Owen after the play. He was looking forward to seeing the play, reading up on it and how it was about addiction; it seemed like something Vinnie would really like. And he hadn't been lying to Owen when he said he saw a lot of his work, and he truly felt the other male would do an amazing job on stage, so he had been looking forward to seeing that firsthand. Sure, Vinnie had also flirted with him too, but that was Vinnie. When he saw someone he found attractive, he flirted, and if it went somewhere, it went somewhere, but if it didn't, then Vinnie was okay with that too. But either way, since he had been flirting, he figured he might as well dress to impress for after the play. Which is why he put on a blue skinny suit with a white button-down under the blue jacket. Vinnie wasn't going to bother with a tie, because he was going to leave at least four buttons undone so you could see his chest tattoos, and he slid into a pair of black loafers. He'd put on some of his simple silver necklaces, a couple of his favorite rings, and all his earrings before fixing his hair into a stylish mess and then called himself ready. He put on a couple dabs of his favorite cologne, then went and grabbed his leather jacket as he got the call that his car was down waiting for him.
On the way to the theater, Vinnie made the car stop at a florist and got some flowers, because you were supposed to give someone flowers when they did a good job on stage, right? He knew it was bad luck to give them before the show, anyway, so at least he knew that. But once he got to the theater, Vinnie would admit to having a little bit of nerves, for after the play, he always got nervous about meeting people. He came off confident and cocky all the time, but sometimes he wasn't. But he tried not to focus on that as an usher sat him down in his seat, right in the front row like he had told Owen he would be. It wasn't long before the play started, and my god, the moment it started, Vinnie was locked in and he was locked in until the play finished because it was so good. The chemistry that Owen and Abbey had was something to write about; it was so good. The storyline about addiction and them being alcoholics was just stunning, and Vinnie felt like he was on the edge of his seat the whole time, not to mention he was emotional through the whole thing as well. Vinnie cried at the end, and he wasn't ashamed to admit that, but it was so beautifully done that he was probably the loudest clapping when the play was over.
He waited for Owen where the other man had texted him to wait, nerves back as he waited, though he smiled at a few of the people that walked past him and looked at him curiously. When Owen came out, Vinnie smiled at the other male as he approached. Once Owen was standing in front of him, Vinnie held out the flowers to him, a slight flush to his cheeks as he did so because now he felt a little nervous about them for some reason. "These are for you, for the good show and all," Vinnie's voice was soft. "Though I should say amazing show. I was blown away by how good it was. You guys did a fantastic job, by the way. I was locked in from the very start and even cried at the end. So, well worth the snow that I braved to get here." His tone was teasing at that part, however. "Now the question is, are you ready to brave the snow with me to go out and get some drinks? I don't know New York all that well though, so hopefully you have a bar in mind." / @owentw
