Knowing Tarik Torgaddon the "Bear Joke" probably went something like, "Have you heard of the Bear joke?" And you'd respond with, "No? What is it?" Then Tarik will say "Well I don't know if you'd be able to Bear hearing it."
And then you'll want to chase him down and kick him but he's too fast and will outrun or simply Bear the pain while laughing ohmygodi'mgonnagethim
He had eyes the colour of coal, flesh so pale it reflected the sun yet glimmered in low light, nose sharp and toned something crisp and nutritious, and a black-toothed grin that never faltered even through the worst of storms.
His name was Frosty the Snowman.
He melted the next day.
Warhammer authors introduce and kill off characters like this and I love it
it's so funny to me that primarchs are apparently painful or hard to stare at. it's like ahhhhgh i saw his ankle i have tinnitus now and my nose is bleeding- pause
reducing characters in warhammer grimdark to their faults and failures is so imperium/empire brained. So you think there is only value in a person based on their use? they only deserve care based on their contribution if it's positive and supportive of the status quo? does anyone else also see where these trains of thought lead.
"fuck erebus meter" with "fuck erebus" on either ends of said meter but the entire thing is colored green for Yes because he's written so attractively as an evil manipulative super intelligent guy, yet i also need to see him bloody and on his knees becis my penit-
i know it's obvious, but a lot of WH40k really is just- "If you have a hard time thinking and feeling on your own. You can be controlled."
which is of course yet another very relevant thing in this day to keep in mind.
The Imperium in Warhammer 40k is a very interesting and haunting dissection and personification of Empire, a structure of power. Obviously the Primarchs have been my first entry into WH40k, thus many of my queries begin with them. What are the Primarchs? What are all of the individual devices, these Primarchs, that make up the essence of Empire? What message do each of them convey, and what do they represent within the contexts they are shown in? What could have been the two Primarchs that would have been culled out of the 20?
From there, based on what you personally know as the reader and have experienced/are familiar with, at your heart you begin to mentally overlay many ideas at once. You realize there are always more questions, some with intersecting results and others answered more specifically - if you can garner these responses from your reading. Personally this is something I love testing, and I have a lot of fun focusing on individual dynamics between characters before stepping back to see how their environment, or life, has shaped them.
There will especially be more questions if you pull the entirety of 40k sheer to reach the expanse and complexity of our own real histories. Namely done for the purpose of drawing these connections, so it's also fair to understand the lens of the authors as well! This is why perspective is so important. There are many perspectives and all are vital to understanding the whole image as it has been written down across texts and now displayed on screens.
Okay! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I just wanted to take some time to somewhat coherently explain why I've been going insane is all :) ty for ur time
