Day 11 / 12: Praise and compliment(s) | Villain tickles
This is an admittedly very self-indulgent AU dubbed the Owner AU. Here, Steve has never left Hell and become a greedy business owner who managed to buy an angel as a trophy who soon becomes his plaything once he discovers a certain weakness of theirs that he can exploit for his own amusement.
The general idea of this AU's plot is that Steve has hired some hunters to catch him an angel, and they've brought him a principality that has been living on Earth (making capture much easier).
Hunters incapacitate their angelic quarry with a collar that locks the wearer's etherealness, which prevents it from using magic, rendering it powerless. The collar can be loosened so the wearer can use a limited amount of magic, such as producing its (reduced) wings for "show". Although, that practice is generally advised against, given the risk of the angel gaining just enough power to break free and retaliate.
Naturally, Mill is not very happy with this predicament. They've had less-than-favourable encounters with demons before, but getting captured and sold is the ultimate low. As most angels would do, Mill keeps a stoic face as not to give their warden the satisfaction of their misery. However, things get more difficult for Mill when the demon discovers they're ticklish and—worse—finds it very entertaining...
Greetings, Millie! Since you posted an AU with Steve and Mill today (Owner AU) I was curious: Do you have any other AUs with those goobers? If so, what kinds? I'm sure there's a lot you could do with them, so I was curious ^^
Have a nice day!!
Heya Pixel! Thank you for the question :-)
Hoo boi, I went to check and count how many AUs (featuring Mill and Steve) I have, and man! I got, like, 20 of them?! @_@
Granted, many of them have been just one-shots or purely for aesthetic reasons. Here are a good handful of them, in no particular order:
Spider AU: Featuring Drider!Steve. This AU goes with the idea that Mill is a world-hopping chronicler, and they meet this big friendly arachnid while investigating the strange happenings around a town they're visiting.
Merfolk AU: Functionally a The Little Mermaid AU: a merfolk!Steve falls in love with a human!Mill. One day, the latter agrees to spend the day underwater with him (with a little merfolk magic).
Octopus AU: A variation of the Merfolk AU, where Steve has the lower half of an octopus instead of a fish. My friend and I joked that he had asked his sea witch friend (who is a cecaelia herself) for legs but a misunderstanding led to him acquiring eight octopus limbs instead of two human ones.
Owner AU: As previously explained here, this AU features an uncharacteristically villainous demon!Steve—his heart calloused from spending his whole life in the harsh and arid Greed Ring—who owns a business in Hell. To flex his wealth, he has bought an angel!Mill for the thrill of owning one.
Mini AU: A Giant/tiny AU where a human!Steve discovers that angels are 1) real and 2) much smaller than we're lead to believe, when he finds a 14.5-centimeter-tall Millicent (whom my friend and I lovingly dubbed Mini!Millie) in his home. This is admittedly more of a Steve×Millicent ship, which is more queerplatonic than Mill×Steve.
Fae AU: Twin of the Mini AU where we instead have a fairy!Mill because my friend asked me to draw Mill with moth wings. The premise is pretty similar as the other AU but not as frequently explored, honestly—my friend and I really prefer Mini!Millie for some reason 😅
Pets AU: Simply an AU where Steve and Mill (and various other OCs) are pets/animals: Steve as a Golden Retriever and Mill, a Maine Coon.
Corpse Bride AU: A human!Mill during the Victorian era accidentally marries a corpse!Steve while rehearsing their vows in the woods. The long deceased groom eagerly brings his fresh, new spouse into the Land of the Dead.
Horror AU: A grim canon-divergent AU where angel!Mill has been captured and experimented on by an organisation aiming on the extermination of supernatural creatures. Mill manages to escape but is so utterly mutilated that their angelhood (and sanity) is severely called into question.
Blobby AU: A silly offshoot of the Horror AU because I once had the idea of drawing Horror!Mill as a blob of hair and eyes. I have no proper explanation what Mill really is here; I guess I have this vague idea that it is Horror!Mill who regressed into this small eldritch critter that may or may not have spooky tendencies.
Monstrosities & Creatures AU: Based on that post suggesting angels should be terrifying monstrosities and demons, adorable seemingly harmless creatures. Although, honestly, most of the time, I go with this "Creatures only" AU where a regular angel!Mill is (lightly) pestered by this small creature!Steve.
Beauty and the Beast AU: A human!Mill is investigating the many giant teeth marks all over the landscape in the outskirts of town. Soon they find—or rather they are found by the culprit: a giant beast who's actually a former lord cursed into this form due to his insatiable greed.
Ace Attorney AU: A human!Steve is a rookie defence attorney, trying his best to have his clients declared "not guilty" while faced off against human!Mill, a skilled prosecutor who's yet to lose a case.
Potions & Hexes AU: Not really an AU but more of a set of somewhat canon-compliant magical shenanigans: a gender-bending potion that turns Steve into Stevie; Mill gets turned into a cat-person through mysterious means; and the Love Doll (already touched upon here), a doll that carries over any act of affection to the person it looks like.
Adoption AU: A radically canon-divergent AU where an angel!Mill finds a baby demon abandoned on their doorstep. They decide to keep him and raise him, calling him Etienne. Heaven isn't very pleased with Mill not smiting the child but is cautiously curious about the results of an angel raising a demon.
I have to leave some out because they either 1) are more small collections of ideas (with little to no art done) or 2) feature OCs that aren't mine and I want to respect their respective owners' privacy.
