What kind of person could be so cruel as to do this? My heart breaks for this poor baby. Let's try and find her a home where she will be loved and be a part of the family, not just another commodity to be tossed aside.

Animal Shelter Rant
So you adopted a cat 4 years ago. Now, it is doing something you don't like and the intake manager is not in because it is her scheduled days off, but you insist you need to speak to someone TODAY.
Well, I'm sorry, we are non-profit. The teams here already work many more hours than the average person. It is YOUR cat and has lived with you for four years! You can either deal with issue for a few more days, take it to the vet, or surrender it to your local animal control facility who receives your tax dollars and is required to assist you.
Or
You can wait two days and talk to the intake person when they return to the office on their regularly scheduled day.
I'm tired of entitled people calling and demanding service they have no right to demand! I'm sorry, you want to bring your animal to us because we are no-kill, (and after four years, it IS your animal, I don't remember having a leasing program), that means you may have to wait a day or so, or we may ask you for a donation to bring that cat back.
This is what I hate about animal welfare.
