You need to shut up and take responsibility for your damn kid. I'm sorry, if your child doesn't obey, it's how they were raised: you failed them. They backmouth: you failed them. They don't listen: you failed them. Parenting isn't about the child, it's about you making sure your child grows up to be a decent person. That's not hard. You can't discipline them for this today and not tomorrow. You can't send mixed messages. You have to be consistent and make sure that you and your partner are backing each other up. Now am I saying you can't sneak a snack every now and then while the other isn't looking? No. I'm saying that when it comes to discipline, if at 6pm you're grounded for 6 days I shouldn't see toys in your children's hands at 8pm or even the next morning. You fail as a parent and need to grow up. Quit blaming your child for times that you have failed them. Quit telling the world how horrible your child is without even for a second considering it's how you have raised your child.
