I'll be honest, I added some things to this photo... I made this for a video in response to the recent trend to "replace the sky" in photos. And while I'll never judge someone who does it and is honest about it, I don't get it. What's the point of photography if not for the challenge of capturing something unique? Of putting it all together. And how far can you take this? "I went on safari and only saw a rabbit, so I replaced it with a lion" "I went driving and only saw a grouper, so I replaced it with a shark." "I went to Buffalo and only saw city hall, so I replaced it with The Eiffel Tower". I get that most don't get to travel. It's a privalege and a luxury. But doesn't adding something to your photo take away from the experience? Doesn't it kill the chase? The thrill? If it's art, #ownyourart, but remember that the art isn't anywhere near worth the value of the experience.
