Curiosity killed the cat - and maybe her if she was being caught in this place. She has heard about the Port Mafia and wanted to see if they were really real. ( It was almost an unspoken rule to have heard about them. Believing they existed was another story, though.) The thing that fascinated her about them was that they were just like her; people with special abilities, people who didn’t fit into the norm. She had always thought that she was the only one who was different from the rest, but this was far from the truth as she found out.
Alicia had, on her way home, seen a young man and something about him was suspicious to her. Maybe it was his appearance or his behavior that stuck out to her. Whatever it was, it made her decide to follow him for a while. A foolish and dangerous thought that she would regret much later. She followed him for a bit, trying her best to stay hidden. Her ability helped her a lot, yet she couldn’t use it the entire time. He might have noticed her earlier, maybe not. If he did then he was probably playing a long ( A trap? She didn’t put much thought into that.)
She might have been able to follow him for longer if she didn’t step on the glass that laid on the ground and made, upon the contact with her shoes, a crunching noise. Instantly, she hid behind the wall, waiting for something to happen. This was bad and he probably has heard her. Alicia could feel how her heart started to beat against her chest.
