The Hyperbaric Chamber that I will be spending the next two months in! The sessions are 90 minutes long. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBOT, is a type of treatment used to speed up healing of carbon monoxide poisoning, gangrene, stubborn wounds, and infections in which tissues are starved for oxygen. If you undergo this therapy, you will enter a special chamber to breathe in pure oxygen in air pressure levels 1.5 to 3 times higher than average. The goal is to fill the blood with enough oxygen to repair tissues and restore normal body function. I am using this therapy to repair my skin tissue that has been destroyed by Brown Recluse Spider Bites on Both of my Legs! The Venom has eaten away the skin almost to the bone! This is going to be a long time to recover from these bites! I did not feel getting bit! The bite started out as one on my right leg above the ankle! The bites appeared on my left leg a few days later! The ulcer is very deep and large so treatment is key so infection doesn’t get worse! Once inside the chamber you are seated and the pressure is increased until your ears get plugged from the pressure! You then balance the pressure by plugging your nose and blowing until your ears clear! You do this two more times as the pressure in the chamber is increased! Once at the desired pressure, you put a neck collar on with a gasket to seal your neck and a soft helmet is put over your head with oxygen tube and exhaust tube connected! For the next 90 minutes you are breathing in pure oxygen! You watch movies or read a book! The oxygen is very flammable so you have to be careful with what you bring inside!
