Books in English can be horribly bias as well, I’m from the US and usually get my French Revolution books in French, occasionally Polish as I’m studying Polish. Usually I stick with French. In the US many of the French Revolution books have a pro-monarchy bend
I’m American as well, and believe me I noticed. I’m still learning French, and I only just started Polish (certainly can’t read anything in it yet), but all the books in my library are so, so monarchist it hurts. I’m a volunteer there and I just want to get them a wider variety of books - Mathiez, Linton, something, anything, just not the typical “and then the evil Robespierre personally murdered the beautiful innocent queen”
