St. James Winery Cynthiana: Norton/Cynthiana is the official state grape of Missouri. Though declared in 2003, the variety has roots in the state that date back to the pre-prohibition era. Grown in southern Missouri’s Ozark Highlands' appellation, the wine is medium-bodied, well-balanced, and round, with no hard edges. There are notes of dried cherry, purple stone fruit, and spice. A solid, easy-drinking wine that offers plenty bang for your buck at $11. It would go great with pizza, a burger, or barbecue.
