Another night, another nightmare. There was a time in her life where those would have been few and far between. She vaguely remembered comforting her sister when they were children but that had been so many years ago and whatever she dreamt then paled in comparison to the violent images that replayed behind Lou's eyelids each night. Eventually they had to go away, or at least that was what she kept telling herself.

It took her a moment to realize she had been standing still staring up for far too long to be normal. "Sometimes I wonder what it was like before everything," she commented to no one in particular before letting her eyes fall on the person next to her and giving a small jolt that someone was actually listening, "Makes me sound like someone's grandpa getting all nostalgic. Back in my day..."

"Hey," she hailed one of the scavengers headed for the wall. She knew a few but sometimes the faces blurred. Actually that was most of the time. With the exception of a very select few, she didn't seem to really find getting to know people a priority. Even the ones that she had got to know were on the very edge of her indifference. But this one looked a little more familiar possibly.

Lou held out a small weapon that looked almost like a billiard ball. "You wanna take this and test it out if you have a chance. Kind of like a grenade but...should only be deadly to the things out there though," her chin jutted toward the wall, "In theory."

Something like this was bound to get her seriously injured. Or, more likely, in serious trouble since getting hurt wasn't really on the table for her. Not that many people knew that. She was sure her boss suspected and he'd likely take advantage of that if given half a chance. She didn't trust him any more than he trusted her and she liked it that way. But it did make her think...

Lou tried to focus on her task as she scanned the room for her target, feeling almost dirty as she did it. She knew how he would interpret this and it would probably work in her favor if she could capitalize on that but, for the first time in a long time, it bothered her. It was a fleeting moment and she quickly able to shove it down to that place inside her where all of the darkness was kept. "I was curious about something," she didn't even bother with a greeting, "And I figured you were the man to go to if I needed information."

The council was one of those things that they had to just deal with in Sol City. It wasn't really anything worth noting to Lou. They thought they ran things and had all this power but in the end, they never really did anything except for themselves. It was just the way the world worked and she had learned that lesson a long time ago. Eventually, they would all fall from grace or die and be replaced by the same person thinking they had the world by the balls. And Lou would outlive them too.

"You wanted to see me?" she mumbled with a shrug to the councilwoman that happened to be in charge of her sector. It was possible it wasn't Lou she wanted to see at all, the message being misunderstood. Or it could be a set up to get her in trouble. It didn't really matter as it got her out of doing anything for the morning at least. "You want me to wait out here or...?"
