split time.
@taeminrk
tiny screams of protest pulse up and down his muscles as sungho stretches them out, exhaling deeply and leaning even further into the stretch. his muscles scream more, but it’s a pleasant sort of burn. he’s afraid of injury lately more than ever, a little ironic considering he only recently got a cast removed from his hand, but something like a torn muscle or sprained ankle could be the death of his career. he’s seen it happen not once but twice now, both trainees evicted from the same company, and although it was not his own he’d rather not give katie lee any other excuses to want to get rid of him.
he’s frustrated. it has nothing to do with his flexibility or warmups, but it’s been lingering around him ever since the trainees starting breaking off into groups for this month’s evaluation. taemin is a good performer, sungho will give him that even if they don’t get along more often than not, and he wasn’t totally opposed to having him in his group. what he is opposed to, however, is how the senior trainee seems to think it’s a bright fucking idea to split his time between two full evaluation groups. it’s hubris at best, or a total fucking detriment to both teams at the worst. sungho has never been an optimist.
a click of a door knob opening. sungho knows who it is without looking up, because who else is running up the habit of being consistently late to practice? and not even a couple minutes late, but hours late. all because lee taemin just has to be in two groups at once. sungho wonders hat the fuck possessed him. greed? indecision? sungho could’ve made the decision real fucking easy for him; if he had known that taemin was going to split his time like this he wouldn’t have wanted him in his group from the beginning.
“look who decided to show up,” he grumbles, loud enough for taemin to hear but low enough that it might’ve been intended to be one of those quiet personal complaints he’s so fond of. but not now. right now, sungho wants to pick a fight. he thinks this is stupid, it’s dangerous to both teams, and taemin’s being really fucking selfish with the way he’s carrying this out. just what is his motivation??
