Swallowed | Valentina & Keira
Cramped into a corner of the cafeteria where she felt at least shielded by the two walls that she felt meeting both her shoulders, Valentina tried to fight off the everlasting panic. Ever since the lights had been out, she had been sitting there, not daring to move one inch if it wasn't further towards the walls. It was the method she had developed during her childhood, when her phobia had started; eyes closed, shaking, whimpering, waiting until it was morning - or in this case, until the lights came back on.
By now, Valentina was disoriented, her face hurt from the tears that had been streaming down her cheeks, her muscles tense from cramping. Sh´he had no idea where she was anymore, the only thing holding her in reality the walls around her that she tried to concentrate on. Don't let the darkness swallow you. But the truth was, she was already trapped in that neverending shadow surrounding her; she didn't know why and how she got there, and she saw no way out of it. Breathing heavily, she hugged her legs, knees pulled close to her body, hoping that something would happen to save her from this nightmare.
