Dust to Dust || Bommer
After their meeting with the few group members that volunteered for the run, Summer felt pretty good about this one. Happy that Bobby was actually allowing her to go this time, the woman knew she had to prepare herself for all the possible situations that could happen and what they could possibly see outside those fences. It wasn’t long ago when the group was out in the open and had to set up camp for anyone to just come and destroy everything they worked so hard to build; it was the same for any other groups out there. There was a saying that went around the group after witnessing other groups get demolished from such selfishness, and that saying went: “Fear the dead, Fight the living.” It was a hard saying to come to terms with; why would humanity go against its own kind when their extinction was dwindling? Summer would never understand this but it slightly didn’t matter anymore since they were protected by the walls of the prison. But once they left, there was no telling what was going to happen.
Once the meeting was over, the sun was beginning to fall and night was shortly coming. With a nod to Bobby, Summer walked to her cell-block. Her small room she made her own smelled of concrete with a faint smell of flowers. With a makeshift vase, lilacs rested inside the holder, giving the room a slight fresh scent of flowers as well. With a small smile, the brunette collected a few items of clothes in a bag, her pillow, and the current book she was reading called Lucky. Before turning and making her trek to Bobby’s cell, Summer scanned her belongings one last time. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust her fellow group members – it was that she knew humans would do anything to get what they wanted. Closing her clock, Summer began walking toward Bobby’s.
Once there, the woman stood at the door, watching the man. Giving a light knock against the iron, Summer flashed Bobby a smile once he looked her way.
