Fortune Favors The Witch || Alice & Matteo
While Alice did come from a very well off family, never in all her years had she ever had the chance to attend a charity gala. Why, the only reason she even came today was because the woman throwing it was a customer of hers, Agatha Stewart, a kind middle aged woman who, after her divorce from her husband of twenty something years, had taken a keen interest in the metaphysical. She called far too often for Alice's sage advice, and stopped by the shop nearly four times a week for readings and guidance. The witch was fairly certain that she was on the dear woman's speed dial.
After being dragged from one muddle of stuffy snobs to another, Alice finally managed to break away from the woman, plucking a glass of wine off a waiter's plate and she sped across the decadent banquet hall, and to one of the many sets of French doors the lined the hall. She really hadn't any idea where she was venturing off to; all that she cared was that she was away from the awfully fake people inside. The people who looked down at her in disdain, making jokes and awfully cheap comments about her beliefs and her shop.
The raven haired beauty opened one of the doors, giving one last glance back at the hall of inconsiderate assholes to ensure she wasn't followed, and slipped out door to a place she hoped was far quieter. A cool breeze skirted along the bare skin of her shoulders, she wrapped her arms around herself, cursing for having work a sapphire toned, silk halter dress. Midnight green eyes finally tore away from the doors, across the balcony she snuck off to, and to the twinkling sight of the city below. It was a beautiful sight, one she would have continue to enjoy had she not caught sight of a shadow moving from the corner of her eyes.
"Goodness!" She jumped back, turning to face whatever it was that lurked there, her wine spilling slightly over her hand. "Shit!" The brunette shook her hand away, as far as she could at the very least, from her dress. The dark liquid dripped down the length of her fingers to splatter against the balcony floor. Setting the glass down on edge of the balcony wall, she shot the mysterious stranger a sheepish smile. "Sorry, you gave me a fight. I wasn't expecting anyone else to be here!"
