Hi! I'm Ember, I'm 25 and I like cute things, pretty dresses, painting, coding, and gardening. I have a litany of health issues but I really do try to reply as quickly as I possibly can (though sometimes, I can't help it and it may take me up to a week or two to reply because of this).Â
My little dumplings here are Alice Croft (an eclectic solitary witch who owns and runs a metaphysical shop in Old Town) and Robert Falk (An snobby NSA Investigator who had a really messed up childhood ((This variation of Rob isn't a serial killer per se, but he does use his job as a means to get rid of people who harm kids. Sometimes that may involve killing them)) and is trying his best to be a half decent dad).
I am open to plot on both of them, so if you've got any plot ideas knocking around in your noggin let me know! If you don't, no worries, here are some plot bunnies of my own:
Someone who keeps trying to shut down The Spells Belle
Option 1: Character A is putting up lost pet flyers on street lamps when Character B approaches, revealing the fact that they had seen the cat not far off from there just moments ago. The two go in search of the cat.
Option 2:Â Character B finds the missing cat and dials up the phone number listed on their collar tag. Character A answers and the two arrange to meet to exchange the cat for a reward (like coffee or sth).
The Odd & Unfortunate Prophecies of Alice Croft, Witch.
In which your character comes in for a tarot card reading.
Option 1: If you've been wanting to gently push your character into a certain direction, having them reflect on the potential meanings of each card and having them find some sort of relevance to their life, would be a great way for your character to consider their choices and the paths they have before them.
Option 2: Ooor it could also be a really great way to scare the shit out of them. Some big event coming up soon that your character is really looking forward to? Imply that it's going to be a hell of a bumpy road with loads of complications.
Option 3: Shits & Giggles. Message me and we could try to figure out something absurd.
Option 1: If your character is really closed minded and intolerant of pagan religions, our characters could get into a spat over her store.
Option 2: A literal protest.
Option 1: If your character is pagan or is interested in pagan religions, they could always stop by The Spells Belle and ask Alice a few questions.
Option 1: Your character thinks their apartment/home might be haunted, and asks for Alice's assistance in banishing the spirit.
Option 2: Your character is assisting Alice in renovating her new house when they both begin to notice a few peculiar things occurring. Your character could insist it's just drafts and old wood or even a hobo OR they could help Alice attempt to contact the ghost with the handy help of an Ouija board.
Other parents with kids around the age of 5. Their kids could go to school together, or met at church (Robert and Madison are Catholic).
Enemies (His ex comes from a very political family, so getting on their good side would mean you'd have to get on Robert's badside.)
Romantic Interest (He's really picky. No gingers, and no one younger than him.)
Law Enforcement (He's NSA, they typically have to hand over cases to the FBI and local law enforcement to find legal ways of obtaining the evidence and locking up the bad guys.)
Psychiatrists (Robert suffers from PTSD and is a victim of child and domestic abuse.)
Support Group Members (Art therapy, sexual abuse survivor groups, domestic abuse groups, child abuse groups, etc.)Â
Madison and Robert take notice of a new individual (or family) in the neighborhood. The two decide to take the opportunity to properly welcome your character to Old Town and introduce themselves with a plateful of cookies.
Parent Teacher Conference
Madison has been acting up in school lately, resulting in the teacher requesting to meet Robert to discuss her behavior. Your character could be the teacher, principal or another parent.
Lets Just Pretend I'm The New Cleaning Lady
Your character has managed to get themselves on the NSA watch list (reasons can be anything from suspicious google searches to being involved in activism), Robertâs given the job to plant devices to better help them with the investigation into your character. He breaks into your characterâs apartment, but your character decides to break routine and head back early and catches Robert red handed.
Robert is a survivor of child and domestic abuse and often goes to support groups to help him cope with his trauma. Perhaps he meets your character there?
Missed Connections For A-Holes
Based off of this New Yorker post. Your character or Robert has done something that the other finds upsetting or offensive. Instead of confronting each other in person, they part ways. After dwelling on the occurrence, one our characters posts a passive aggressive note about it and how they wished it should have gone in the missed connections section on Craigslist. Maybe one of our characters could spot the other's post and start correspondence and eventually meet up?
Okay, I think that's it! Let me know if anything interests any of you!
