Holding hand in hand with Alexander, Helen was excited to be doing something normal together for the first time since coming here months ago. She wore a green dress and a long fur coat that he had gifted to her when coming home a few days ago. She sometimes felt like a doll being dressed up, but didn't mind today as she intertwined her fingers in his cold ones. Her cheeks were flushed from the cold and she was peeking at the stands, wondering where she could put some of the decoration she was seeing. "Can I get some of the wine?" she asked him and he handed her a few bills, kissing her cheek, the temperature of his lips almost as cold as the air. He reassured her she could look around and he would go have something to eat and come back as soon as possible. She was happy with that, with the fact that he hadn't bitten her in close to a month now. This made Helen feel very much alive.
Standing by the mulled wine stand, she listened to everyone speaking with their friends and family around, laughing and excited about the holidays. She hoped that she would have this year. Passing the bills to the vendor and taking the plastic cup, she smiled and inhaled the smell of the steam coming out of it, her face growing more pink with the few sips she took. Walking around, she bought a few decorations she was sure she could put on the table, maybe even get a tree for the corner. With a few bags on her elbow, she turned around quickly, wondering if he was back by now. And despite her having done so well lately in not bumping into people and not breaking things, it seemed the luck had run out as she spilled her cup over her coat and she hoped that none did over the person she had pushed into. "I'm terribly sorry, I promise I try to be careful. I hope none of it got on your coat!" Helen exclaimed, rumagging in the bags for some of the paper in which the ornamnets were wrapped to use as tissue.
