Oblivious | Aura & Nahyun
@mpxnahyun:
Nahyun stared at the other girl for a long moment, her mind processing the utter garbage that it had just been subjected to sluggishly. The drivel that had just come out of Auralie’s mouth sounded like a line from a badly written rom com, so shallow and blindly optimistic that it made her head hurt. “Do you try to sound stupid, or does it come naturally?” That seemed like a fair question, given the girl’s ‘insight’.
After all, you could work very hard and try your absolute best, and the world could still crumble around you just because it could. There did not have to be rhyme or reason to suffering, and there certainly did not have to be a silver lining, no matter how hard someone willed one into existence. “Next time try using your brain to string a sentence together, it is much more effective.”
Aura had a thing where people could bully her, be utterly mean to her face, and yet it had a way of completely skipping over her head. Although she had only just met Nahyun, and although the other girl had a frown on her face, the young demigoddess was none the wiser. “Oh no, didn’t that make sense?” she responded with a sigh, “I’m sorry! Sometimes things just sound so much better in my head than they do when I say it. My daddy told me that it’s because I have an overactive imagination - it runs quicker than my mouth.” She gave a small giggle, her eyes forming cute crescents and cheeks rounding.
“What I meant to say, Nahyun-san, is that you should really try your best in every situation! And if you do, then something good will always come of it eventually,” she nodded, as if reassuring her own thoughts, “It’s true!”
