The lamps were still burning in Ravenclaw Tower when Lennox stretched back in his seat and let the newspaper flop to the table. His whole body felt tense, like his muscles were wired for a fight, and he knew the exact reason: the state of the wizarding world. The reports from Falmouth about attacks on wizards by werewolves was shocking, yes, but also somehow expected - like Lennox hadn’t actually expected any better of them. Despite what most other people thought, Lennox was of the opinion that a beast was a beast: they weren’t human any longer, and they needed to be controlled. The gruesome picture splashed on the front of The Daily Prophet was proof of that. And when they weren’t - when the laws were too lax, or people got complacent - that’s when these things happened: deaths, blind and horrible. How could people not see this for what it was? 

Stretching his arms over his head before settling back down, Lennox glanced at the books he should’ve been reading for school - but the motivation just wasn’t there. His eye kept drawing to the looping photograph from the paper, his jaw tightening every time he thought about it. Movement caught his eye in the form of Penny shifting about in the common room - Merlin knows what she was doing; Lennox had always tried to stay as far away from her propaganda as he could - but he couldn’t help but remember who - what - she was. She made sure everyone knew about it. “Hey, Penny,” Lennox said, waiting til she turned at the sound of his voice before he picked up the newspaper and tapped the front headline: WEREWOLF ATTACK IN FALMOUTH KILLS THREE. “This what you’re working so hard to support?” he said, face blank and eyes sharp, throwing the paper back down onto the table. He didn’t hate Penny - he didn’t think much about her at all - but he wasn’t going to tip toe around her like everyone else was at a time like this. “You do realise people are dying, right?”

Girls Night | Tessa & Penny

Tessa put all the dresses she owned that would qualify as ‘slutty’ just like Penny told her. There was a red short dress with sleeves and a black leather skirt that she would need to find a top to wear with. She was glad that Penny offered her to go out for tonight. It was a while since she’s done so, and a few drinks would definitely ease her nerves. She was already stressed about the last year of college and there were other things going on as well, such as ex-boyfriend Oliver and a pair of parents who were about to visit her in a month. God knows where they are. she thought as she started to grab a few pairs of shoes. Just when she was about to call Penny, she heard the doorbell. She almost flew down the stairs and opened the door. “Here you are! I was thinking you actually gave up on me.” she chuckled.

Comme des Enfants | Penny & Grayson

This day was quite an important day for Grayson Flemings. Let’s just start by saying that the poor lad couldn’t sleep that much through the night, his mind filled with thoughts of Penelope, his childhood friend, and his body completely filled with excitement. The poor boy could barely rest for a bit and before he knew it he was up again, taking a shower and actually putting an effort in his outfit for the day.

Penny is one of the most important people in Grayson’s life. Ever since they met, when they were still little children, the green-eyed boy used to look at her in admiration; he used to watch in awe at whatever Penny did. As they grew older, said admiration turned some sort of puppy love, as Grayson realized that girls weren’t as gross as he actually thought when he was a 7 year old. He never tried to let her know about his feelings for many reasons, for example, his incredible shyness whenever he was around her or his fear of rejection. The oldest of the Flemings complied with having Penny around; her friendship was all he could ever ask for. Yet he still hoped for the day when he would become someone worthy of her love.

The curly haired lad checked himself in the mirror one last time before nervously walking out his room and across the hall to Penny’s bedroom. Bea informed him a couple nights ago about Penny’s date with his younger brother, Wesley, and he couldn’t help but feel down about it. If there was anyone in the world who could be good enough for Penny, it was Wesley, without a doubt. And that was why Grayson sort of envied him. He was scared he could never be good enough. The oldest Flemings sort of felt bad about wishing for their little dinner date to be a complete fiasco. But he couldn’t help it; he’s been in love with the girl since they were 13. 

Shaking off his unpleasant thoughts, the young lad focused on what was about to happen. A whole day with Penny walking around the streets of Paris was just what he needed. Some kind of reassurance that no matter what happens in the future, they’d always be together, even if it weren’t in the way he wants it to. Grayson finally managed to put his nerves aside and knocked on Penny’s door expectantly. A big smile was plastered in his face and he couldn’t remember feeling this excited ever since he was a little kid.
