Having not slept well the night before, Troian was almost late to the sushi lunch date her and Candice had planned back ages ago. Almost. Between the holidays, looking after tiny humans, both of their careers in high-drive, it had been a while since the two friends had really had a chance to just sit down and catch up. Troian couldn’t remember the last time her and her friend had hung out together, actually. She knew Candice had been around for the birth of Phillip but a few months after that, the blonde had seemed to vanish off Troian’s radar. It wasn’t with any malicious intent, that she knew, but the two women just hadn’t taken the time to keep up with each other.
That would change this afternoon, though. One of Troian’s New Years resolutions was to keep tighter friendships with the people in her life and even if she was starting a month early, she was determined to stick with it. Which was why despite the dark circles under her eyes and the breathless gasp she gave as she dropped into the chair in front of an amused Candice...Troian had made it. “Sorry...sorry,” she exhaled. “Long day. Long, long day. Have you ordered yet.” And then the lightbulb clicked on in her head - greet your friend, idiot. “Hi,” Troian laughed and reached over to hug Candice. “God, I’ve missed your hugs.” @pftcandice
