TEAM X - The Crown, his Saber, and his Technician.

A quick scribble of these three together... The version of this uploaded from instagram looked horribly compressed, but... uh, this is really only marginally better.

Welp.

TIAN -  King X’s "Saber” -- or right hand. A generally friendly fellow with an affinity for remote-controlled projectiles.

He’s not as obnoxious as he looks I promise ;;; At this stage in the Montevarro universe’s development, the details of the position of Saber are a little vague. All we know for sure is that they sorta play second in command to the Crown... sometimes as a reinforcer, a messenger, a personal informant/council, or some combination of all that. I guess this is all to say Tian has to be responsible and trustworthy, since King X generally uses him as a messenger lol.

After finishing Mikhail’s piece I was really motivated to get some more work done... except maybe with a simpler painting style. At that point in time, I was gonna be moving towns again -- if I couldn’t finish it in a few days, I probably wasn’t gonna finish it for another month. I also started seeing noticeable chromatic aberration in some new photo filters that seemed popular lately, so I figured “Why not do a small study using the effect?”

And so I did. \(ovo)/ After trying everything out on other drafts first, of course. (Like the last image for example. I tested the effect in Photoshop on that.)

I spent some hours trying to dress him up while wondering why it looked strange (hint: the proportions are off...) He already had a main outfit designed for him, but because I was initially working with a dark blue background at the time, I couldn’t use it... Thoug, in the end, I cropped the whole thing and deleted the BG lmao. And for aaaaaall the time I spent on his hair, I still don’t really like the result. (=u=;;; ) It seems I forgot simplicity was key here.

A number of things are still “bleh” but that’s fine.... Lesson learned. Main Objective achieved. We know what to work on next. d^^

MIKHAIL -- The lead technician of King X’s crew... though he generally uses his skills to hack and reverse engineer things. For science.

There were two months where I didn't have wifi and I didn't exactly get to upload this anywhere when I did finish this....... After it sitting around in WIP Hell for a majority of the year, of course. ^^; Coming back to it after all that time caused me to miss some details and change some others lol.

He’s an OC I’ve had for a looooong time... art for him has been long overdue. (Though, I guess that could be said for a lot of OCs I have. ;;;) Since he’s now part of a project I work on in the background, there’ll be more of him~ \(ouo)/

This is also the first time I made a completely custom brush in Clip Studio and used Photoshop for post-pro - so may this project continue to be a journey of growth for both of us!
