believe you are lovely ; queen twins.
surprises are not one of lena’s favorite things. the lead up to the surprise, if she knew about it that is, usually filled her with a certain sense of dread. she would over think all of the possibilities, ranging from something good to something terrible, depending on who had the surprise waiting for her. with maggie, that was a little bit predictable in terms of good versus bad. maggie wouldn’t steer lena in the wrong way, so if her twin said it was a good surprise, lean is quick to believe it’s good. but what if it isn’t all that good? only a good surprise if maggie were the one being surprised and lena would actually find this surprise to be bad? her thoughts raced as her heart did, but despite the anxiety she felt, the brunette made her way to sugar. as she walked through the doors, she wasn’t hit with anything unusual right away, so far so good. lena walked further into the shop, hoping to see any sign of her sister or her niece, since they were the ones holding the surprise for her. “maggie, ava? i’m here,” she called out, trying to fight that awkward feeling that followed the loudness of her voice. what did she have to feel awkward about? this is her family. while she waited for someone to show their face, her eyes wandered around the shop. maggie did a great job decorating, the bakery felt a lot like a second home to lena so it held that sense of comfort. but as her eyes scanned something familiar, her breath hitched in her throat. taking tentative steps towards one of the paintings on the wall, tears collected in her eyes and her mouth fell open. she was looking at one of her paintings, a real lena queen original hanging up on the walls of sugar. “this is mine,” she whispered to herself, slowly reaching up with a shaky hand to touch a part of it.
